First time at this theatre.Great show. Would definitely look at different seats, upper circle is a bit restrictive.
Went to SEE the Jersey Boys last friday. Saw very little of the show due to the seats we bought. We were advised that the balcony was high up which we excepted when we bought the tickets. We were in row B and had to duck and dive to see any of the show through the arms of the people sitting in the front row who also had to move about to see through the safety barrier. The music was brilliant but we only saw the bottom part of the performers legs. we saw none of the props to the right hand side or rear of the stage. I was so fed up trying to see the performance the music was putting me to sleep. His Majesty's Theatre are selling tickets for the balcony under false pretenses. These seats are not fit for purpose and should be reported to Trading Standards. I would like to know if any of the Theatre's management have actually tried watching a performance in these seats. The rows are so close together you have to sit to side or your knees are hitting the person in the row in front. The stairs are very steep and there is no handrail to hold onto. We paid £28.50 for a performance we didn't see. It shouldn't matter whether we paid £28.50 or £128.50, we paid to see a show that we didn't see. The audience in theStalls were all having a marvellous time. I would have liked to have enjoyed it too.
Seen the four seasons good show great experience . Can't wait for next time we go for a girls night out
Trying to get served at the bar before the show was dreadful. But have got to say the staff tried their very best to serve as quickly as possible there just wasn't enough of them on! It was so bad we chose not to have a drink at the interval. Having said that Jersey Boys was really really good, what a talented cast, thoroughly enjoyed it and the theatre is beautiful.
I took my mum through to the theatre as a surprise for her birthday, she loved the show and the music, Alexandra Burke was amazing, the theatre in Aberdeen are attracting a lot of good shows lately keep up the good work
Really disappointed had tickets booked to see Shrek and the show has been cancelled with only 17 hours noticed simply not good enough
What a great time we had at Shrek the musical, show was brilliant and kids enjoyed, was a bit long but kids managed to sit through it so must have kept there attention, special effect and songs great too.
I have been to His Majesty's Theatre (HMT) quite a few times over a number of years, but I recently attended the theatre as part of a school trip to see Beauty and the Beast.Inside, the theatre is just stunning! All seating areas are marvellous, especially front centre dress circle. Not only were the seats comfy, the theatre was warm and presented majestic decor. Facilities such as the toilets were efficiently cleaned, and the corridors were stunning with rich reds and golds.Staffs at HMT obviously have customer service high on their agenda as I was assisted numerous times pre-, post- and during the performance.Tickets range in price but can be a little pricey. Saying that, it is definitely worth the trip :) I would recommend bringing noise cancelling earphones for children who find loud noises rather unpleasant as the music tends to be quite loud.
I run the risk of reviewing the show more than the theatre here, but I have seen more than one show at HMT and have always enjoyed the show and the atmosphere. The theatre is conveniently located in the city centre and easily walkable from the shops in Aberdeen. Tickets are always a reasonable price and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The 2014/15 panto, Beauty and the Beast was absolutely hilarious and I would recommend going to see it before it finishes.
Made my debut at the panto and found it highly entertaining. Comfortable seats and great interval refreshments topped off a good night
Yet again, fabulous family fun at the HMT pantomime. Elaine C Smith and the cast entertain superbly every time.
This is the second year we've been here for panto and it's been fantastic both times. We struggled to order tickets online this year so we rang them up and they were so helpful, the staff at the venue itself are very friendly and chatty. We saw beauty and the beast this year and it was fantastic and absolutely hilarious, suitable for all ages, the cast seemed to be having so much fun and the special effects were fab, there is lots of toilet, the theatre is very comfortable and lots of leg room.
The HMT theatre is a lovely venue and the seasonal pantomime is a perfect opportunity to witness the buzzing atmosphere. The production is consistently fantastic, and I mean that when I say it. It is suitable for all ages and there are some marvellous special effects. The audience participation really gets everyone involved. This is a panto well-worth seeing. You will not be disappointed!
I decided to go and see this years panto in this fabulous building and wasn't disappointed, the sound quality was excellent and even though I was in seat R8 in the stalls I still saw the whole stage. The production was fantastic as well, well done everyone from the staff to the cast, will certainly be back here next year and may treat myself to one of the boxes, thank you everyone.
As part of a xmas treat we went to see Beauty and the Beast. Overall we had a great time and the panto was hilarious (even for adults). Plenty leg room and lots of toilets! Great theatre!
