The museum is lovely, has real character and its truely a great attraction in staffordshire, ive been here twice and theres lots to see and learn. The pottery is really interesting and this would be great to take kids to show them abit of history.

My 14 year-old granddaughter and I spent a really interesting few hours learning about the history of the Potteries and trying our hand at painting pots and ornaments. I was concerned that she would not enjoy it at her age, but she loved it, especially the "Flushed with Pride" exhibition of toilets through the ages. The only thing I regret is that we hadn't really allowed ourselves enough time to do everything, so missed the flower-making etc. You could easily spend 4 hours or more here!

What a fantastic place did not even knew it existed. Went for just a 30 minute visit and stayed a couple of hours and learnt so much. A great place for children and adults we will be back again soon

Spent a morning viewing this one of a kind museum. Wonderful going through the different stages and having each section explained as it was in the days gone by. Fascinated by the bottle kilns and just how incredibly hard life must have been. Watched several re-enactments and was truly amazed. Lovely gift shop. Definitely worth a visit. Don't rush. ... enjoy it.

So impressed with this unique museum. A short video brilliantly introduces the museum - an actual pottery saved from demolition - as well as the pottery industry context, and then you're off and free to wander round bottle kilns, exhibitions, a working engine, beautifully preserved rooms and offices full of period detail, watch actual craftspersons at work and have a go too if you fancy. It's relaxed, informative, fun for all the family, and incredibly good value.

I visited this brilliant attraction with friends. Gladstone is the only remaining, complete bottle kiln pottery in Stoke on Trent; having been saved from the bulldozers at the 11th hour. I visited it several years ago, not long after it was opened to the public. Alot has been done in the intervening years to make visiting a really interesting and rewarding experience. There are explanations, demonstrations and things to do and explore. The staff are well informed and helpful. This is industrial-archeology-made-interesting, at its very best. All-in-all an excellent experience. The tea shop's good too. Well worth going out of your way to visit.

I went here with my partner and found it to be very interesting and informative. The people giving the demonstrations were very friendly and informative. Especially the gentleman who was giving throwing demonstrations, as he was very knowledgable about pottery so it was a joy to discuss pottery with him. You definitely need to allow at least two hours to go round here. I'm looking forward to visiting again when it's a bit warmer.

We enjoyed learning about how the pot banks worked in the past and the children got to do some clay work them selves .

Our first visit and would definitely return. We all made a pot, great tuition and enjoyable experience. The museum was a fascinating insight into the pottery industry through a range of interactive experience. The tea room was good, oatcakes excellent. A great day out.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Very well preserverved " working " museum. You can see make a pot, talk to the expert who creates a work of art in front of view but my favourite part was watching semi retired pottery workers creating and painting beautiful flowers. Such works of art. They are then on sale in an excellent shop. £4.99 for an individual work of art. Everyone we spoke to was welcoming and informative and so proud of their industry. Go soon because these talented ladies aren't going to be working forever. Cafe and toilets good. Also a museum area dedicated to the development and history of the W.C.! Brilliant.

Tour of the Kiln and factory, interesting to see how the items are made. Very knowledgeable tour guide which was very helpful and enlightening.

Large free car park adjacent to the Museum which for those unfamiliar with the area can be hard to find despite the brown and white tourist signs. The Museum has plenty on offer to capture the interest of all family members. There are regular events held at the Museum- the day we visited a local history film was being shown. You can try your hand at painting a pottery figure. The restaurant is clean and airy and sells Staffordshire oatcakes. There is also a large gift shop with an excellent range of products. Well worth a visit.
