A fantastic trip for all generations ! The train ride was good, the wooden childrens playhouses with slides were great, the treasure hunt , although £1.95 extra kept the kids entertained whilst walking and riding around , to get to their box with clues to find the prize was so exciting and very well thought out ! The staff were very fitting and enjoyed their jobs , waving to the children on the train ! You didn't begrudge paying the money to upkeep a good family destination ! After visiting puzzle wood in the same day this was far better in every way
we visited with a 2 year old and 8 week old. Had a great time. 2 year old loved the treetop houses and slide. The train ride was fairly long compared to some other miniture railways. The treasure hunt idea with real treasure to find was worth the extra with our 2 year old able to use the colour picture number system to find and open her treasure box herself. Food choice was limited only sandwiches or soup the day we were there, but sandwiches were generously filled and tasty. The indoor village is fun for the little ones but freezing cold -colder than outside- which was only 4 degrees day we went so wrap up warm. Staff very friendly. Could improve by putting traintimes up as had no information about these.
Went as part of a group.the train ride was very nice and if we had been there longer we would have done the forest walk as looks so nice, Everyone was very friendly and helpful.Café was nice, small but food was very nice and that log burner .....May try and get our small car group to a trip over, but we will be back
My 2year old grandson described this place as perfect. It can't get better than that!! A wonderful place for little ones, especially if they are train mad. There are also a couple of good play areas and woodland walks. The treasure hunt is well done and pitched just about right. Perrygrove is well worth a visit, and you could spend a long time here.
This is a day out with a twist and a great combination of things that kids love - a miniature railway, tree houses, treetop walks, things to climb up and slide down, loads of space to run around and a very clever competition which results in a prize if you solve the clues. There is a cafe which serves very adequate and reasonably priced family food and the admission charge is very reasonable too.
Took my 10 year old and 9 month old for a quick afternoon out and this turned out to be an excellent choice we had an absolute blast. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the train driver even took the extra time to make room for my pram so i did not have to take my daughter out of it.The treasure hunt was also a lot of fun.
I had a lovely time with My family here. The trains are really worth coming too see and the staff are really and well worth a day out with the family
We love Perrygrove and generally go once a year. The steam railway lovers get their fix and the children love to play indoors in the little houses and outside in the play areas and treetop adventure area. The cafe is pleasant serving reasonably priced food and drinks and there is plenty of picnic seating outdoors and in the exhibition shed.
I LOVE treasure train. It is a place I have visited frequently since I was a baby and its always a great day out. I like the walks round the woods, I like the tiny trains, I love the treasure hunt (even at age 24), I like the cake they serve in the café, I like the mini village bit at the end. My two year old has been three times in her short life too and always has a good time and is wonderfully exhausted by the end of the day.Pretty cheap, easy to spend a good few hours there, all the train drivers will wave at you as they pass, the treasure hunt is often changed so it doesn't get old. Maybe wait until your child is walking though, as the little woodland paths aren't very good for buggies. Go go go!
Two days before Christmas. An amazing experience. Whoever thought of the little nooks and crannies in the village deserves an award. It was brilliant. The whole experience was spectacular. In all my years (60+) I've never seen Santa come down a chimney!! It was worth it all to see the Children's faces. A trip neither they nor the Grandparents will ever forget. Thank you for such a well organised and thought out event.
We did a Christmas booking for our family of 3 which included a Christmas show. We arrived before our allocated show time and went straight on to the train. The booking system worked well as there was no waiting around or overcrowding and the staff seemed to all know what they were doing. Our 2 year old daughter enjoyed the train journey a lot, because it is a small train she could see more and take it in. We took the pushchair with us as initially she was asleep and found they had an accessible carriage which is great for people in wheelchairs or babies in prams. The train journey itself was quite short, myself and my partner found it boring after recently going on the West Somerset railway steam trains but my daughter was enthralled for the duration of the journey which is what counts. After the train journey we went in the cafe for some cake and a sandwich which were tasty and reasonably priced for a touristy place. There was a toy train set and a little village to keep everyone entertained while we waited for the show. At our allocated time we went to the shed for the show which involved a bit of audience participation and story telling from Mrs Chuffity and Santa. I felt the Santa show was a better way for the children to meet Santa as there was no queuing and more interaction. Mrs Chuffity was very friendly and a natural with the children. The present from Santa was well received and actually something we would have bought her ourselves. Throughout the morning all staff we encountered at Perrygrove were very warm and helpful. A couple of minor complaints, the baby changing facilities were not very clean and could do with being modernised. Also I felt the adult ticket price was quite high for what was on offer.Overall a good morning out and a memorable Santa visit.
Seven adults & a two year old. The weekend before Christmas. One magical afternoon at Perrygrove Railway. We has two rides on the train & then went to see Santa. The setting was enchanting. Noah was fascinated by the 'real life Thomas the Tanks'!! We were very impressed by the Christmas show, especially Santa's entrance/exit! - I won't spoil the surprise for other guests - but it was different to the usual arrival....The staff, especially Mrs Chuffety were great with the children & story telling.Well worth a trip at Christmas, but wrap up warm, only selected carriages have doors.
Took a group of nursery children and it was a truly magical experience, the children had a fantastic time, the staff were amazing so friendly and accommodating and the actual set up was beautifully done. Well worth a trip
Came on a school trip today all the children had a fantastic time loads to do, the steam train was great and seeing Fathe Christmas come down the chimney priceless! I think the adults enjoyed it just as much (if not more! Lol!). The staff were all friendly and helpful. Fantastic.thankyou
As always had a fantastic day out at Perrygrove Railway Treetop Adventure with the children. This time of year it is especially special with a visit from Father Christmas himself, a joy for children and adults alike. If you haven't experienced it yet, put it in your diary for next year and you wont be disappointed. A truly magical experience to see the children's excitement when father Christmas comes down the chimney to listen to Mrs Chuffitys tales about the engines.
