Great choice of ales and serves prosecco by the glass or bottle at very reasonable prices.friendly bar staff. Will visit again
A great place for cider and ale lovers. There is always a good selection that changes regularly. The prices are very reasonable but the best thing is the welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere.
Found this place by happy accident .And what to say well the beer is top class the atmosphere is friendly the barman was very knowledgeable about the ales he served and new beers on a regular basis and as a ale house it,s all about the quality of the ales on offer and as isaid earlier in this review there first class if you like your beer without the bubbles then this is the place to come for a drink i will only drink in here when i come to straford from now on
If you love real crafted ales, this is the place to be!Always some interesting brews running! And always crowded, so you can chat around.Friendly staff, and I am treated as a 'regular' even if visit just twice a year!Bad luck for the pubs in Stratford, cause I don't go there anymore!Well, maybe to eat, but not to drink.I would recommend this place to all visitors of Stratford! This is more native than Shakesbeer!
We are now regulars in the Alehouse and we love it. Hubby enjoys trying the different ales and I love a glass of prosecco. Apart from the drink we love the atmosphere here as Bill the landlord is so welcoming and so is everyone else who drinks here on a regular basis. If you are a visitor to Stratford you should come here at least once and get to chat to locals. A great change from run of the mill pubs!!
This small Alehouse is full of excellent Ales and an extremely pleasant ambiance. The staff is always helpful with information about what you can enjoy at the premises and also about local establishments. Overall a very worth while place to visit.
I like real ale and in a desert like Stratford I enjoyed it's presence. Don't expect atmosphere just drink n enjoy.
REAL ALE LOVERS LOOK HERE!!!!Pubs beware! This place is taking all your customers! And guess why?- Fantastic local ales on small barrels. 4-5 different going each night.- Relaxed atmosphere and grown up well behaving customers.- Great deals on fizz and wine by the glass or even cider But you really want to come here for tasting the fantastic ales!Hopefully they will get a permit to stay open until 11pm, even on SundaysVery friendly bar keepers and excellent service. This is a good reason to move to Stratford - permanentlyIf I didn't have to go home, I would probably still be sitting here enjoying!Definitely coming back! Do try to get there early. At weekdays it is crowded at 5.30.
This is a place where you can come and sit down and have a very fine pint of real ale. You can sit and read the papers by yourself or enjoy getting into a conversation with a number of the regulars. There is always a wide variety of ales on over the week, plus the regular 'Pigs Ear' all of which are at a very reasonable price. No music, frills or any other distraction to stop you deciding on which beer to drink. Wine and other soft drinks are available for those who are not educated in the finer qualities of real ale - but it will not be held against you.Bill and Phil are a very friendly duo who run the establishment
One of the best secrets of Stratford-upon-Avon. Always a good selection of Real Ales and Ciders. There is Wines and Procecco for those who don't like Real Ales. A friendly team run this establishment and for Stratford the prices are very reasonable.
Small bar, serving excellent beer, to good quality, at a fair price. No music, no fruit machines, just good beer and good conversation! My fave bar in Stratford when I visit the folks - which we had one at home!
I belatedly came across this fantastic little micro pub half way through my holiday, so glad I did. Very easy to miss but, if you do, you'll be sorry. Great range of ales, good service and knowledgeable staff. Should be in Camra's Good Beer Guide next time.
My wife and I have been coming here once or twice a week since it opened so thought it time to provide a review. The Alehouse is unique in Stratford selling real ale, that is gravity fed into your glass; a selection of white, red and prosecco wines; a couple of ciders; and a few soft drinks. No lager, smooth flow beer, etc. Food is limited to crisps, nuts and pickled eggs! There is no juke box or fruit machines so customers can chat in peace. Bill and Phil the owner and manager are very welcoming and keep the beer in tip top condition. The beers, which change regularly, are sourced from small brewers around the country but with a bias towards the local area. Over time the choice has been phenomenal. Well worth a visit.
Good cask ale. £2.80 ish/pint Very friendly service and other customers/regulars? No jukebox. High tables/stools for group conversation which you are able to hear because - no jukebox.
An absolute must for any genuine real ale drinker. The beer is literally served direct from the barrel. Excellent choice. Friendly owner, dogs welcome. If you are visiting the Stratford Beer Festival this coming weekend make time to call in here.
