I only had a short time in Liverpool so tried to see as much as I could whilst down at the Albert Dock. I had a look around the museum which is free to visit however they do suggest a donation which I happily paid as there was lots to see.I particularly enjoyed the Titanic exhibit. There are stairs and lifts to all floors and there were staff on hand to help with any questions. Of course there was a gift shop which I made full use of.Very informative.
...if you rush you will miss out. We spent a couple of hours walking a round the three floors of the museum. There is so much to read and take in that you need to take your time. The Titanic display area is worth a visit on its own. I won't spoil things by describing it all - make some time to go and see for yourself.
spent couple hours at this wonderful museum staff very knowledgeable and helpful lots of seating areas learnt so much
Well layed out musuem housed in an old building, very accessable and some stunning displays as part of this museum you will also find the museum of slavery very affecting.
allow plenty of time as there are several exhibitions within the same building. Titanic, ships and boats, Slavery, children being sent to Australia/Canada,Groups of school children everywhere, very educational.
The boat/ship exhibits were superb. Everything well lit where appropriate and dimly lit where atmosphere was being recreated. There were plenty of interactive exhibits for kids and the entire building was full of fascinating facts and exhibits. Definitely worth a visit and all free of charge although a donation is requested.
Loads of Maritime history here. Slave museum and Titanic exhibition. Will suit all ages. Another museum that attracts people from all over the world. Another fantastic visit and a lovely cafe serving real tea!!
Different themes on each floor, from the slave trade to customs and excise, the Titanic - and an interesting exhibition on the children who were sent out to Australia and Canada up until the sixties. Display cases are well labelled and there are lots of interactive displays - though not every one was working. Not a museum to be rushed through - plenty to interest you.
Another free museum in Liverpool. Very interesting, particularly the section on the war in the Atlantic. Lots of exhibits and artefacts and outlines the areas maritime history. Would recommend to anyone visiting the city
The maritime museum in Liverpool is a great place to go to see the history of Liverpool. Lots of exhibits many are intractable. it would be a shame not to pay the Maritime a visit. If havn't been to Albert Dock you havn't been to Liverpool.
