We travelled to watch Feyenoord play my team Roma and we were left in the rain for 2 hours and treated very poorly indeed.Feyenoord fans threw missiles on the pitch the game was stopped for 15 minutes. Then after they kept us back for over an hour then herded us on trains which we didn't want as we weren't staying to far away......basically disgraceful
Old, but by no means outdated. One of the most inspiring and 'true' football stadiums in the world. Nothingb like the theatres they like to sell as stadiums these days. This is about football and only football. And thus about Feyenoord, named after the district in which the stadium is located. And by the way, most people in NL know it as 'De Kuip' or 'The Tubb', after its appearance.
sing this song and they will love you!Ga je mee naar 't stadion Naar de ploeg Van Rood en Wit Je zoekt een plekje in de zon Waar je zo Gezellig zit Kijk ze komen op het veld En gejuich uit duizend kelen Want je staat ervan versteld Als de sterrenploeg gaat spelen Dan is altijd wat je hoort Het lied van FeyenoordJoin me in 't stadium To the team From Red and White You are looking for a place in the sun You have so cozy sitting Watch them get on the field And cheers from a thousand throats For you are amazed If the star team will play Dan is always what you hear The Song of FeyenoordHand in hand comrades Hand in hand for Feyenoord 1 Not words Leve Feyenoord 1 Hand in hand comrades Hand in hand for Feyenoord 1 Not words Leve Feyenoord 1Hand in hand kameraden Hand in hand voor Feyenoord 1 Geen woorden maar daden Leve Feyenoord 1 Hand in hand kameraden Hand in hand voor Feyenoord 1 Geen woorden maar daden Leve Feyenoord 1
to experience a very Nice atmosphere do visit a game in this stadium. A Nice alternatieve is the stadium Tour (the famous Feyenoord museum is included.)Buy a souvenir in the Feyenoord gift shop and grab a bite in the restaurant opposite the stadium. You meet one of the players there As I once did.
If you love Feyenoord or not..... This stadium is very pretty. Empty it is just great design, but when it is full of people with a Feyenoord heart, it really comes to life. You have never felt something like this.... sometimes it is just bouncing because of all the happy supporters when our guys made a score..
Simple it's the best soccerstadium in the Netherlands. Home of the club with the most loyal fans in both good and bad times
If you want to visit a football stadium in the Netherlands I recommend this one. It's an old stadium (1937) with a great atmosphere during football matches. The stadium is a place of some historical matches, including the 2000 European Cup Final between France and Italy (2-1). People love the stadium because it looks like a hugh tub. The stadium is also used for music concerts including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd. It's been renovated a couple of times and in the future it has place for 70.000 people.
We ordered our tickets via the Ajax website. They were very expensive but excellent service we collected them at the ground without any problem. Good facilities plenty of nice bars outside the stadium. In the stadium they have a silly system where you have to buy a "credit card" for food and drinks this costs 10 euros if you don't spend it all you have to go to another desk to cash it in. Lots of messing about in my opinion.
I was a big fan of the stadium itself, from the great atmosphere, the organisation of the place, the cheap beer etc, we had a very fun evening! However we had pre-booked tickets before travelling, and had to collect at the stadium. Very strangely you had to join the same huge queue which was formed to buy tickets for that day's match, and we very nearly missed kick off. There was nobody around to organise the queue or to answer questions which was disappointing, I just think this is something that could be better addressed, and maybe have one of the kiosks specifically for pre-booked tickets.
If you really like soccer and wanna go a night or halfday out in the place with the best crowd and the most beautiful atmosphere: don't hesitate. You get shivers down your spine when one of the players scores because the people go completely insane (in a good, non-agressive way).
if you like soccer try to get a ticker google just feyenoord and you will find the homepage. This is the best soccer stadium of the Netherlands, best atmosphere. You will have a great night out
This football stadium has the one thing money can't buy..... The feel of a real football stadium...The stand moves if everyone jumps up to celebrate a goal.. In a positive way it send shivers down your spine.. For that reason it hosts the Dutch cup finals although it isn't the largest stadium.
Since I was 5 years old I've been a Feijenoord fan.. I've been to de kuip many times, even been on the tour and now that I am older and busy with other things I still follow the teams results. The stadium has a lot of history, it is one of the oldest and biggest stadiums in the Netherlands, for a long time it has been the stadium where the Dutch team played their home matches and it hosted many European finals. It may not (yet) be in accordance with the latest standards of what is expected of soccer stadiums, but what it lacks it makes up in atmosphere!. You should watch a match of Feijenoord against Ajax, PSV or one of the other Dutch "top" teams to understand what I mean. Due to a change in the UEFA/ FIFA policy Dutch soccer lost the connection with the absolute top of Europe, it meant that money decided who will win th EL or CL by buying as many players as possible, however when it comes to talents Feijenoord (and I hate to admitt it.. AJAX) are still at the top, also because they have top schools. To give just one example Robin van Persie came from there!.Feijenoord has a small museum, what can I say about it... Feijenoord is the first and last Dutch team to win a European Cup (Ajax is the club that won most). If you like soccer (and soccer history) then this is a nice place to visit.
Nice to visit and stroll through the history of the famous soccerclub Feyenoord. Also a great piece of architecture.
It is not the biggest stadium I ever saw in my life. But it looks great! We had an excursion over this stadium and it was very interesting to see VIP seats, room where press conference is usually kept, dressing room for football players, tunnel which players follow before the game starts, museum of stadium history with all their exhibits. Shortly - amazing place.
