Thanks a lot for your review. We are proud of the Castle and the work we make to please our visitors, and it´s a great gratification to read good reviews from people who have visited the Castle. We hope you come back in the future.

Thanks a lot for your visit. The castle is a reconstruction but don Rafael (the Count) tried to rebuild it a mix of a true reconstrution and a imaginative one, because he wanted to live there as his home.We are triying to expand the business creating new opportunities like theatrical lunchs, mistery nights, concerts and other events. Also, we want to make us known out of Spain.

I´m sorry if you didn´t like the Castle. You should understand it´s not cheap to preserve a Castle. Also, it´s a private ownership monument, we don´t recieve any public funds to pay the costs, like salaries, preservation and other costs.Anyway, there are many other monuments tickets more expensive that 7€.We are always triying to improve our services and we will consider your views, for example, we are working to have free audioguides in the near future.Thanks.

Thanks for your commentary. This is a private castle, we do not recieve public funds to maintenance the castle as many other spanish historic buildings, so we have to charge the costs in the ticket. It´s only 7€.

Thanks a lot! It´s hot in summer in Córdoba, but there is always water here with a big river like Guadalquivir flowing below the castle, other minor rivers and dams near Almodóvar. Thus forms a contrast of arid and green areas in the aroud the castle.

Thanks. There are lot of thing to see at Cordoba province, and our castle is one of them.

This castle was reconstructed at some point so it is in very good shape. It doesn't look very large from the bottom of the hill but it has many overlooks and interior buildings. It is interesting to learn about the history of the Spanish castles. Our friend brought us here from Cordoba. It would be best to have a car to get here. Our friend's mother grew up in the village beneath the castle. His grandmother still lives there.I would recommend a visit if you have a few hours available while in Cordoba.

Fabulous location with amazing views. We walked up to the castle from the village which took maybe 30 minutes in total. The views when you get near it are amazing, you can see for miles. The castle itself is fabulous, lots of turrets to go up, cellars to go down and even a dungeon! There is a visual presentation in English that gives you the story of the Castle and it's very well done and interesting. There are also displays of swords through the ages, different types of armour and scenes that depict various elements of castle life. All very interesting and you can definitely while away a few hours here.

You see this impressive looking castle from a long way off due to it's location on top of a hill overlooking the town. The large amount of restoration and irrelevant exhibits, (in the sword display, they have a mock up off Excalibur and a write up about King Arthur and the Round Table!), does make it a bit Disneyish, but rather this than an inaccessible and dangerous ruin above the town. Having said this, I can't deny that it is impressive and has wonderful views from it's numerous turrets.

Spotted this caslte high on a hill as we were driving between Cordoba and Seville. It was too irrisistable to not take a detour to visit. It was well worth the visit if only for the panoramic views from each of the towers. It was disapointing to see from the photografic exhibits that the vast majority of the castle has been completely rebuilt. There's a very interesting display of various swords, although I don't think it is relevant to the history of the castle. Overall I think it is well worth a visit.

We took a trip to the castle on our way from Córdoba to Seville. We had a car, I would really recommend driving up, the castle is high up. Since we took the trip in the winter, there was only an other couple visiting the castle. The view is breathtaking, the castle is very well renovated, you can also check the exhibition about the renovation process. We really enjoyed it, if you have about an hour, it is worth visiting it, even though it is a bit pricy.

You can see this castle on the train ride from Granada to Cordoba, so keep your eyes open. I took a bus to get here from Cordoba and that was pretty easy to manage. The castle is a tad over priced for what essentially amount to a walk around its impressive towers. The inside exhibits are OK, but lack decent English translations and the audio was not functional when I visited. I pointed this out to so they could fix it (they said they would) but after waiting around another hour they never did.I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place, but it's nice picture on a Spanish road trip or just a cool thing to see while riding by on the train

This castle is well worth visiting as it is perched on a hill overlooking the surrounding area and it has an interesting history. The drive up to the castle is steep and narrow and I was very glad we didn't meet anybody comming the other way. When you get there the view is stunning and the level of restoration is superb. It becomes even more impressive when you realise this was funded by the owner at the begining of the last centuary and there is a series of photos showing the state it was in before and during the work.

To imagine what was involved in renovating this castle - over 30 years of renovation works, employing 600 villagers, over 100 years ago, I would have loved to meet this gentleman, who spent everything he had to give us the opportunity to see how it was, and for only €6.50, really not much to donate ... but I really think they should be advertising more - if it hadn't been because we were staying in Posadas, we wouldn't have known about it. Why not put some leaflets in Cordoba?
