Great flamenco and definitely recommend this place. Good show, reasonable priced tickets compared to other places and genuine flamenco. We had abreast experience here and would go back. Limited seating so encourage you to buy tickets online.
We arrived as walk-ins and it was already sold out! Same thing happened on the day we watched so book online. The lady dancer for the day was very passionate and captivating, she was really great! We saw her photo afterwards on a tourism ad of Seville at the airport. My mom bought several postcards from the museum shop with lovely drawings of women in beautiful flamenco costumes. She had the postcards (12 of em) arranged and framed to be hanged in her study. Just putting it out there in case somebody wants to do it too :)
We saw a show here - it was better priced than the others available. The show was good quality, the dancers were excellent. You could have a drink there before it started. Its a small venue, but the seats are not well placed so you can't see much of the foot work unless you stand up. If I was going again - I would take a seat at the back wall - that way you can stand and see the performance as you like. it was a nice length and I would not have liked anything longer - its enough time to get the flavour of the dance and music. Any longer and it would be two much.
I am surprised this is ranked 13th/349 things to do in Saville...It surely is a highlight of a Saville Visit. Two shows - 7 PM and 8:45 PM and we took the latter one as tickets for the former were sold out. We were there early so got good seats upfront (and in corner for right camera shots). There were 3-4 performances, a combination of dance, guitar-play and singing. All in all, the artists were brilliant and this is a must watch show. I haven't seen other Flamenco performances so won't be able to compare, but for a first timer it was a delight. It is also great value for money.
OK, I am not a big fan of flamenco, but since we are in Seville for over a week, it seemed like a requirement. We totally enjoyed the show which is in a cosy theatre at the museum. Live singing, dancing and fabulous guitar - it was great. The young woman at the museum shop was an intern who had anticipated being able to dance. Do not know if her college or the Museo folks were responsible for this not happening, but please be sure to greet the interns with warm smiles. The woman in charge of our apartment strongly recommended this show as the best intro vs others on offer. You can also see local flamenco in bars - pay attention and you will see small signs. The thing about going to the museo is that you know you will get an excellent show. It lasts an hour and there is a bar so you can have a drink while you watch. The location is extremely tricky, as is much of Seville, so allow LOTS of time to find the place. We saw many people with their maps and phones out as we got close - a local directed us and we helped another couple get there as a result. Maybe they could put a map on the back of the ticket. Museo del Baile Flamenco is a great concept and it is doing extremely well.
If you want to see a professional flamenco then go to Museo del Baile Flamenco a fabulous expereince. The show is a little over an hour, great guitar playing, female and male solo dancing and as a couple a really magnifcent event.Shows are at 7pm and 8:45pm book in advance and turn up at least 30/20 mins beforehand, seats are not allocated so necessary to try and get near to the front, the show area is smallish so even from the back row the view is good. You cant video but you can take "non-flash" pictures. The show is explained to you in a Spanish, French and English before it starts and drinks can be purchased from the bar before the show begins.Well worth going.
I cannot say that this is the best Flamenco show in Seville but if not it must be a very close run thing. We went as a party of six to the 7 pm show having purchased tickets from a gift shop earlier that afternoon. The museum is tucked away and we made sure we know how to get there shortly afterwards and we were able to turn up in plenty of time as recommended in earlier reviews. We were able to select good seats in front of the stage and then made use of the bar which was reasonably priced and staffed by very friendly people. The show itself was by a male and female dancer,a guitarist and a singer. They were all fantastic. The show lasted an hour and at the end I felt exhausted. There was so much energy from the dancers and the guitarist was as technically excellent as you would see anywhere. The smallness of the arena meant you felt that you were part of the performance and created a fantastic atmosphere. The show costs 20 Euros and whilst some may feel this is expensive for an hours show but I can assure you all it certainly is terrific value for money.Perhaps the only word of caution is that the performers are different everyday so you will not see those I saw. Those used at this venue are though apparently close to the peak of their profession and it is unlikely you will find better anywhere in Seville.
I don't like when I pay 18 € and I cannot take a photo without flash.Even if it's too for tourist a nice hour of good Flamenco
We had witnessed a less professional flamenco in Granada but a couple we met there urged us to see a more professional show in Seville. They recommended El Palacio Andaluz, but that was too far from our hotel (therefore most of our receptionists hadn't heard much of it) hence we went ahead with their recommendation of attending the show at Museo del Baile Flamenco. They have 2 shows here, your hotel can book you up but you need to show up earlier for choice seats as the location has 4 rows of probably 10 seats and then some more seating on the sides of the stage. The show was more catered towards showing tourists different types of flamenco and had 4 artists, a singer, guitarist, a male dancer and a female dancer who put on various acts together, showcasing flamboyance as well as sublimity. If one hasn't been to a flamenco before and wants to visit one for touristic purposes then the shows such as the one at Museo del Baile Flamenco are worth your while. No sense paying up for shows which offer free wines as wines are at worst €3 per glass.
Love this show traditional as it should be and not touristy. We went on tour before show.Friendly helpful staff great shop for mementos. Ole
Perfect. A one hour show, I did not want an entire evening. The show featured a guitarist, a singer, a female and a male flaminco dancer. The artists were all talented and professional. It is difficult and unfair to rank the preformers,. hey were all excellent, the dancers were byond expectation, and were well supported by the other artists. You felt the passion of this exciting form of dance. The venue is small, so arrive early. It is very comfortable, and there is a well stocked bar to ease the wait..This show has been the highlight of our visit to Seville. Ole!
The museum itself consists mainly of audiovisual guides which take you through the history of flamenco, the different styles (of which there are many) and some of the basic steps and positions. There are a limited number of screens with headsets to browse a lot of information so I'm not sure how well that works when the place is busy. It was a really useful introduction to the art of flamenco prior to seeing the evening performance. This is beautifully done in a courtyard of the museum which seats only around 100 people on 3 sides of the dancers so it feels quite intimate. It's worth getting there early to get the best seats - we sat down about 45 mins before and were able to get front row seats. The show is one hour and includes 4 performers: a guitarist, singer, a male and a female dancer. This is real art with highly skilled performers and the atmosphere was electric. We had heard a lot of tourist guide guff about the emotional intensity of flamenco but believe me, it's true. I know it's not cheap but it's worth every penny. PS there is a bar there too!
I'm not a flamenco expert, in fact I've never seen a show but I loved what I saw.You get a variation of types of songs/stories that will raise your hair.I'm glad we went here, it was cheaper and felt right.
