The cathedral takes about 20 minutes to completely visit if you include the cloister (the entrance fee is only a couple euro). Personally the exterior appealed more to me than the interior, especially the side entrance on the right of the square. Once inside the decor is quite sober and not overly lit. There are some nice stained glass windows but their beauty is only shown on a sunny day.The cloister is small but quaint. It gives you an idea of how tightly packed the buildings are in the old quarter as many neighbouring houses can look right inside the private garden. All in all not the most impressive cathedral you can visit in Spain, but when you're strolling around the old quarter of Bilbao you're sure to pass it at one point and might as well include it.

It's not magnificent in the way many churches and cathedrals are but it definitely has something, the moment you walk through the door. Worth a short visit.

Yes it´s a cozy place, it´s warm and peaceful. It isn´t to big...maybe little but it´s marvellous. Its outside is close to the houses and its inside has many details.I love it.

Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful church, but we visited it close to the end of our two week European cruise, and after visiting many of the famous churches in London, France, Portugal, and other cities in Spain, this one just felt a little repetitive. It wasn't near as old, or quite as spectacular as most of the others in the area.

Located in old town this cathedrsl is definately worth a visit. Inside you will notice the extensive and elaborate decorations and the beautiful alter. This is a great place to reflect, pray, or simply gaze at the devinely inspired interior.

The cathedral is situated in the old part of the city and the area is nice enough to spend some time. Bilbao's earliest church was a pilgrimage stop on the coastal route to Santiago de Compostela. It is a lovely church but I think it is not especially to the many magnificent Gothic Churches of Europe.

This is such a wonderful old cathedral. The architecture is amazing and I would definitely recommend a visit

Being shooed out of anywhere by a flapping nun is not going to make anyone thing somewhere is a great place to visit, irrespective of whether God is closing for business or not.

This Cathedral as many in Spain reflect the catholic tradition opulence, very spiritual and a place to reflect and learn the history about the ancient culture of spain.

Such an amazing building, I did the audio tour which I really enjoyed! Make sure you take time out and explore all corners, there is little chapels, artwork etc which you would easy miss if you just walk around, The audio tour brought my attention to so many things that I would have otherwise missed.

Begun about 1300 and completed in the 16th century. Charming cloister with roses and lemons giving a lovely scent.Became a cathedral only some half-century agp

It's always lovely yo see a picturesque city from high up and this had great views of the town. But the close up views of the architecture that you get from up here is magical and well worth 12 euros (non- discount adult price)

Having traveled quite a lot, this cathedral didn't impress me very much since I've seen much better. However, I wouldn't visit a town without having a look at its cathedral, whenever possible. Bilbao having been mostly an industrial Town throughout the times, it is only natural that its cathedral does not feature the magnificence of others.

In the heart of Bilbao, this cathedral is on the Plaza Santiago and is well worth a visit. You can sit outside and watch Bilbao go by!

We saw the outside of the Basilica when walking around the old city area. The Façade is in various states and more restoration is required. The day we walked there, the Basilica was not open and men were working on the door way behind the iron gates. Subject to how many churches you have seen, this one is worth a walk around if going to the old town, but not worth a special trip.
