On a recent visit to Malta, enjoyed a couple of hours at the Falconry Centre. It's a bit difficult to find as the signage is a bit poor. People keep removing their signs?Doreen, the owner, gave us a guided tour & we were able to handle & get up close to some of the birds.Makes a nice change from those Maltese who only want to shoot at birds!

Arrived at the Falconry Centre today after two bus rides and a 10 minute walk. Unfortunately, we were the only ones there, and were told there would be no bird flights today due to "wind". We were offered a visit to the aviaries and told we could handle the birds. After a cup of tea in the bar, we decided not to enter the centre as neither of us wanted to hold the birds, and had been looking forward to seeing them in action in flight. If you are thinking of going in out of season months, you might want to telephone ahead to see what they are planning for the day to avoid disappointment.

It was just excellent to come here. The birds are all very impressive and the lady who owns the place is more then helpful. Very good trip with our 4 year old who was genuinely impressed with touching owls and holding them on your arm .

We found this place by accident while looking for a tour bus and we are so glad we did! For only 6 euros we had such an amazing experience. There were 2 of us, plus another family of 3 and the staff were great! They gave us so much time with the birds, holding a tawny owl, little owl and some harris hawks. They clearly love their birds, and the birds love them right back. The animals are in fantastic condition. We took some great pics and it was definitely one of the highlights of our Malta trip.

For a small fee, everyone who are visiting Malta can see this real hidden gem, located in a small village called Siggiewi. The people there are very dedicated for the birds, they care so much for them and many of them are actually saved by them. The experience of holding an owl or other predator bird on the hand is absolutely unique and must be tried by anyone who visit this country, as for me it's in the top 3 of the attractions I've visited there.

We loooved this place so much. Doreen was such a lovely lady, she showed us around for hours and the birds and her have such an amazing bond. We went back a second time and enjoyed the free flight show. Warren was so patient with us and we all got to hold the birds . If in Malta, you must go.

My husband and I booked the full-day course at the Centre, and it was hands-down the best part of our trip. We arrived early, and the owner Doreen gave us a personal tour while we were waiting for the class to start. Warren introduced us to the birds and we got to help weigh them. He was very patient and answered all of our questions and made sure we had ample opportunities to take pictures. Later on, we got to fly one of the falcons and Warren graciously took pictures for us, probably a hundred or so! It was an amazing day. At the end, we went to pay but didn't realize they don't take credit cards. We didn't quite have enough cash, so Doreen took us to an ATM in the closest town and drove us back. Then when she learned we were taking the bus to our next adventure, she insisted on driving us to the bus stop! We really felt included, and it was so nice to meet people who care so much about their work. The birds are in wonderful hands, and we highly recommend it.

We traveled here in December with our 3 and 5 year old and I cannot say enough great things about this place. We also had a challenge finding it because on the website it only mentions coming from Valletta on the 62 bus...but we weren't coming from there and didn't get off at the main square so finding it was a challenge. We ended up on the road on the other side of the Falconry center, but there is no way to get to the other road without walking all the way around. Regardless we asked some locals and found it.Once we arrived, the owners were awesome and let our kids each handle four birds. This was arguably the highlight of their trip, and was just really cool. They didn't have the birds fly because of the wind...although it wasn't even remotely windy when we arrived in my opinion...but we were still able to hold the birds and that is what we came for. This is only a short bus ride from the Hagar Qim temples, and makes sense for visiting after your kids are tired of looking at the "old rocks". Your kids will love it.The only suggestion I have, is the website needs far better directions and details for arrival from places outside of Valletta...and even if we had come on the bus from Valletta I don't think we would have found it without a GPS or asking. You can get here on one of the sightseeing buses if you take those...which obviously helps with finding it.I cannot recommend this place enough...it was a highlight for our family. Thank you!

It was not signposted from the town square and it took a bit of finding but the locals helped us find it. The centre is small but has plenty hawks all lovingly cared for by Doreen and Warren. There is a daily flying show and opportunity to get close feed and hold the birds directly if guests wish to do so. This is a must see. I get the feeling that the staff/owners really love their work. The nearby town is quite scenic whilst waiting for the bus back to Valetta too.

I have been visiting the Malta Falconry Centre for the past 6 or 7 years, and every time I go, I feel welcome and at home. The owners are amazingly friendly, love all their birds as if they were their children, and the birds are amazingly beautiful, well cared for and very well kept. The surroundings are very serene & welcoming, and whenever I go there it is like heaven :)Well done to the owners & staff who day after day, show and teach the art of falconry here in Malta, and showing visitors how noble and elegant this art really is.Well done & keep it up!!!
