Visited in September 2014, did a boat tour on the lake, visited the Albanian end of the Lake as well, less commercial.

Skadar Lake is so beautiful! Lake, nature, birds, islands, heritage, food at the locals, ... I really recommend to go, take a boat ride, swim if possible, watch the birds, hike,...It is close to Podgorica. You can stay there and rent a car and explore.

one of the first places I take all my many visitors to Montenegro, as I live in nearby Podgorica, swimm off the boat and the beautiful scenery, but I wonder what happens to ALL that money they get for "protecting it"

The lake is one of those places where your troubles are blown away by the waind, the sun, the birds and of course, the water. There's not so much to write about: just relax and enjoy nature.

Beautiful and magical lake with floral, fauna, villages, abandoned prison and castles. A bird-watcher's paradise. Take a boat trip (we recommend Boat Milica) and visit the monasteries situated around the lake.

Visit by boat organized by Kormoran Boat Service. Perfect! The captain very nice, the lake is wonderful, and you can see an old prison island, monasteries, birdwatching, nature and simply life.

Remarkable beauty with islands, flora, fauna, churches and stories. We really liked it. Started from Virpazar and been on several islands and two beaches including arranged meal. Highly recommend this true pearl of Montenegro.

Romantic village - town Virpazar open its arms to you and welcomes you fully. Several restaurants cafés.... beautiful little place. Lake is in front of you , ready for your visit. Tours around lake aren't very expensive and they are just fantastic. Amazing nature, world of birds etc... fantastic to experience.

It was raining & the boat was not comfortable. The trip could be shorter as they is not that much to see other than water, grass & a few birds.

Go now – before the rest of the world will discover it and most probably spoil... It is about 30 minutes train ride from Podgorica – but the views are spectacular (even by Montenegrin standards)

Были в не очень солнечный день. Вековые ели показались слегка жутковатыми, лес немного сказочным, как лес Бабы Яги. Грибы какие-то большие. Как-то даже жутковато немного. Но, все равно понравилось.

Красивейшие виды природы. Очень редкие птицы, наблюдаешь их прямо с лодки. Цветут лилии и кувшинки. Экскурсия может быть более или менее продолжительной, зависит от вашего желания. После катания в ресторане можно отведать карпа, выловленного тут же в озере.

Красота, природа, "тишь да гладь - божья благодать!", несколько раз брали лодку, просто катались, смотрели на птиц, на противоположном берегу есть песчаный пляж. А ещё видно берег Албании...

Путешествовать по Черногории не то что нужно, а необходимо.Для это Вам будет нужна машина (аренда, ну или живущие там знакомые, как у меня). Скадарское озеро поражает своей красотой и изумительным видом. А недалеко от озера( в часе езды) находится водопад Ниагара - но это, как говорится, совсем другая история.
