The old city of Budva is a cosy and not so touristic place, perfect for spending a day there walking around or shopping. The narrow, tiny streets makes the place even more charming!

Budva is a town on the Montenegro coast. Much of it is modern and like a typical beach resort, with fairground rides, high rise hotels and nightclubs. However it does have a small old town area, with some hefty walls. It isn't as nice as nearby Kotor, or Dubrovnik further up the coast, but it does have views of the lovely Adriatic. If you're looking for attractive historic towns with good city walls, there are plenty of better places in the region. If the focus of your holiday is more on the beach and nightlife, and you just want a small dose of culture, then Budva's old town and walls will supply it. They're not bad at all, it's just they pale in comparison to some of their nearby competitors and if you have seen/are planning to see those, it's probably not worth bothering with these.

Very nice and pleasant small bars, shops, open door clubs. Not just in season, but in December there is an open Museums and Art clubs. Recommend to go inside the City Walls and explore the beauty of this Wild town.

A worthwhile visit during a stay in Budva.We visited the Budva walls shortly after visiting Dubrovnik and the City Walls there.While smaller and perhaps slightly less impressive, they are still well worth a look. Walking the walls is a good way to get a feel for the area and also take in some great views over the coastline.

In Budva old town, you will find the most interesting little cobbled streets, full of restaurants selling the most delicious food and shops selling local arts, crafts and gifts of all kinds. People here are very friendly. The walled city is reminiscent of Dubrovnik, but is a much gentler, friendlier town

The wall at the main entrance is quite high and defines the entire area. The other remaining walls are not so high and not so impressive. Behind the walls is the fairly typical but not large pedestrian-only Old Town.

Despite not being as imposing as those of nearby Kotor or Dubrovnik, these are worth the nominal 2 euro to do a circuit. Impressive birds-eye views of the bustling city beneath you and fantastic panoramas of the Adriatic and St Nicholas island just offshore. Badly damaged by a massive earthquake in 1979, the authorities have done a grand job of renovating the damage done. If you've visited the citadel, you're very close to where you access the walls. Worth doing, I'd say.

Stayed in Budva and visited the old city walls one morning whilst exploring. A great place to wind along the old streets and a great range if shops. Some new, some modern and a little antiques corner with lots of insight into the history of the country. Sat having lunch on the beach at one of the cafés with a great view out overlooking the bay.

Budva is much smaller than Dubrovnik, and you cannot walk the walls at rampart height. But they are very pretty and it is easy to get from one side of the town to another in a few minutes. Cafe prices are very reasonable and the town is very photogenic. Go quick before they ruin it with exploitation.

We visited the City Walls on a day trip and enjoyed the small little gift shops surrounding the city walls.also the new marina is something to see.

Budva is a beautiful seaside town with a small square entagled in numerious curvy narrow streets that allow you to get lost. We found ourselves suddenly on the city wall, taking in the vistas and the the beautifully preserved buildings. As we walked along the wall and made friends along the way, the wall just suddenly stops about 3/4 the way to the end, so youn have to back track. There are several exits along the route, but all are blocked by privated locked gates. I felt like we missed out on so much of the rest of the town because we spent most of our free time on the wall.

Old Town in Budva is full of small, narrow streets full of cute cafes, bars and shops. I could spend there hours wandering around. Atmosphere is very joyful and warm. Safe place.

For a small fee you can access the walls just past the entrance to the Citadel.You cannot do a full circuit and have to come back to where you started- though it's a interesting walk around with excellent views down to the narrow streets .Other views are of the harbour, luxury yachts and the rear of the many restaurants. !!!!Be careful when walking as the local cats use the walkway as a toilet and it's very slimey.

We walked the walls in September this year on a bright and sunny day and found the construction superb. 4 euros to get in and worth every penny. The place is well maintained with fantastic views and an entertaining and well-thought-out museum. A must if you are in the old town ..
