We wanted to get away but only had one night. Since you have to reserve a minimum of two nights on line I called the park directly and asked if they would allow a single night camp sight and if they felt they would be filling that night. The lady was more than helpful and told us to come on over. The park is on the smaller side but with the view it has and the great staff it didn't feel like a small park. On a side note I feel there may be an issue with there mini golf course as my wife managed to beat me. =) Any way all joking aside we had a blast and will be going back. Most of there sights are pull through and if you get there early you can nab a water front sight that will have you feeling like you have your own lake house.
We camped there with another couple. All of us enjoyed our stay there. Our friends camped on the water, and we camped across the street. The view was great, and the people were friendly. The bath house was clean every day, and each campsite was properly cleaned. The trees are close to the road, so it makes it hard to maneuver the spaces in a larger rv. Just take your time, and all will be well.No major restaurants or shops close to the park.
They have wonderful cabins and camping areas. there swimming area is well maintained and the water is crystal clear. Some of the very best fishing in the south. You will enjoy all the time you spend here and once you come you will definitely come back.
Excellent location, clean facilities and beautiful scenery. The park is located in the Georgia Wiregrass region and is adjacent to Lake Seminole, home of some of the best bass, bream and shell cracker fishing in the area. Bring your camper and your boat for a relaxing getaway.
we love this park and this area and come back year after year. Restaurants around not so much, but quiet and peaceful.
Like North Florida, this part of Georgia will give you wonderful clean water, nice cabins, and temperate climates. The large thin trees (my favorite) are inviting and beautiful, and the water in this park is so wonderful, we were upset we forgot our swimsuits.
This State Park is located in one of the most pristine setting ever. Frankly, though you are far from any night life, or any decent restaurant, it is well worth the trip. Clean, well run, cabin was very clean. Easy boat access. Wildlife viewing everywhere. Fishing very good.
I stayed in a cabin during the week. It was right on lake. It was very quiet, peaceful. Cabins exceptionally clean. Lovely birds and had deer visit one night. Large screened in porch with large rocking chairs. Inside layout very open, bedrooms good size. Ceiling fans everywhere including porch.
Great place to camp, very large lots, more privacy is towards the back of the park. Beautiful large lake for swimming. Great area to kayak, boat, and fish. Campers are not bothered by park rangers knocking on the door to "visit" or ask questions but they are available if you need anything/emergencies. Nice camp store. Bring your own firewood if you can because it is kind of expensive and only available at the camp store during business hours.
Did not overnight there, but visited the park and looked it over. Very nice park on the lake, swimming, camping, fishing, boat rentals, all the things one could want. I recommend it for a visit!
You must rent a cabin or camp here and see the sunset! The place is very well maintained. Large mouth bass fishing is wonderful! My only complaint is that the boardwalk needs to be repaired as it is not accessible and that's not noted when you begin the trail.
We stayed in cabin number one. It was fantastic. It was clean, the beds were comfy, the sheets were soft and thank God it has a wonderful screened in porch with comfy rocking chairs. The only thing bad were the gnats...millions and millions of gnats. We could not even run to our car without being attacked. We tried the gnat spray but it did not work. A friend from Thomasville drove up and brought us a fan so we could grill. The customer service was wonderful and felt badly about the gnats but seriously what could they do. We will be back but will make a call first to see if the gnats have found a new park to play in.
it is peaceful but there really isnt much to it.... I mean swimming?? they have a small area that gets crowded fast. Scenery yes there is alot. Fishing beautiful and wonderful! but if your going for swimming you'll be disappointed.
The first day we arrived it was quiet until the weekend families checked in. The Camp Host very friendly and check on us several times during our stay. Take your own Fire Wood. Only 16 lakeside camp sites. Bathroom are clean and folks are friendly. Walmart 20 miles away. Don't leave anything because no shopping in town. No internet on site
We were here the second week in march and we had a great time. The kids played on the playground while my husband fished. I would love to stay in one of the cabins one time.
