historic banning mills zip line canopy tours

We are very sad that Hugh did not feel he had a quality experience at Banning Mills. Our staff did go out and show him how to use the DVD player. Sometimes other guests have it on a different input and it is just a matter of switching it over to the correct one. We did look at the co ax and it was out. We did a temporary fix so as not to be in the guest room too long. The tv and dvd were in working order when staff left. The shower doors are a little different in our rooms in that the track is at the top and not the bottom. If a guest shuts the shower door too hard, it will come off. We would have been able to get it back onto the track but the guest did not tell us about it until the next day. We were not given the opportunity to remedy this. It would have taken about 5 minutes to repair. I am not sure why the water was just warm to the guests. We did have a full house but the hot water is on a recirculation system and also has an instant hot to boost. We did not have any other complaints regarding hot water. We do have temps set so as to prevent scalding. Perhaps our guest was just more used to hotter temperatures. We do try very hard to make sure guests have a great time and the rooms are set and ready. Sometimes things do happen and usually, if the guest lets us or tells us, we address the situation quickly or move them to another room if the problem can't be remedied. It is difficult for us to fix things if the guest will not let us in the room or does not tell us.We hope that Hugh may be able to come back and visit one day without any incidents.Management

We thank the guest for the review. It does help to keep us on our toes. Our cabins are rustic but clean and comfortable. We use the same towels on the Country Inn side as for the cabins. These are big and extra absorbent. Our quilts are the same as well and thick, not flimsy. We did check the door sill and there were two areas on the back side deck that had places where the wood did need repairing. This was repaired immediately.We try very hard to have the rooms very clean and stocked. Sometimes we may miss a spider web being in the woods and all but still, the housekeepers should have made sure all were gone. Housekeeping did see this review. We hope that if the guest comes back, they will be pleased with their next accommodations. Management

It is sad that sometimes people think only of themselves. Most groups are very considerate of others but this one was a bit more difficult to handle. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding on your zipline canopy tour experience at Banning Mills. We are very much a family destination and accommodate guests from 4 years to 95 years old. Safety is a priority. We are able to take guests off the zipline canopy tour but only if it is a medical emergency. Our course is a continuous closed belay system and we use this type system so that guests can't disconnect by accident. We do not take guests off because they are a little scared but we do work with them to help them get thru the course. When they are done, it is a great accomplishment for them and they realize how safe the course actually was. We never intentionally mislead a guest. Sometimes a guest may just misunderstand what we try to convey. Calloway is a great place as well but our different levels allow for greater adventure experiences and our long lines are second to none. With two Guinness World records, you will not find a better course anywhere in the world.
