This museum fills a small old storefront mall on the main east-west street in Show Low. Each of the 17 rooms has a different theme, emphasizing a local family, personality, or important event. Adults will enjoy and appreciate the variety of exhibits and kids will really like the Railroad room, among other things. The staff clearly enjoy their visitors and are deeply invested in the museum. Visit, spend some time, and donate in the box (they do not charge a formal admission fee).

I like our little museum here in Show Low. We have the most wonderful train set up. The area for kids to participate is run by a really awesome woman that is very knowledgeable and makes it very fun for the kids. They have lots of information about the local area history. If your a history buff this is a great place to visit and is fun for kids.

Just a small little building in the middle of town that if you didn't know it was there you'd probably miss it. Although its not much to look at from the outside it is well worth the stop. They have a very friendly staff running the place. They have lots of information about the local area, a great model train area, Jail, and even had a Post Master talking about postal stuff and stamps. I don't know about the train engineers but the 'Post Master' had actually been a real Post Master before she retired.

From the outside the museum appears to be very small so we hesitated about going but were we surprised...each room in the museum has a theme concerning the history of Show Low. there is an amazing display of quilts in one room and an impressive rail road display in another...fortunately we were there on a day when the "engineers" were available for questions and operating the train..there are 17 displays in this museum, each one educational and fascinating...docents were knowledgable and able to anwer all our questions about the area...a must see in Show Low

Avoid Arizona!!!The most ridiculous speeding ticket I have ever got. Speed limit 55 change to 45 at the turn in the dark without any clear prior warning sign I can remember of.Speed trap camera in the city of Show Low, AZ - you are sucks After driving in the back country road for the whole day and when I was about to enter the "darn s**t town" I was welcome like a "movie star" with a bright flash light. I can accept if the city/town installed traffic camera at any junction for safety purposes but not on the hwy. I never encounter such a speed trap in any other states, city or town. I know nothing I can do to fight you Show Low for this ticket but i will blast my writing to any blogs, forums, reviews etc. Put your police, trooper, sherif on the road not the speed trap camera, it is just not right period.

This place is so sorry looking from the outside that I wish I could afford to donate a facelift. It is a little gem of a local museum with really well-informed and friendly [without being underfoot] volunteers staffing it. I've known the hill for most of my 65 years and have learned a lot each time I've visited the museum. Also, it was fun to be reminded of some of the things I'd not thought of in years. Don't forget to see the Train exhibit. The guys whose hobbies inspired and keep it going are just fascinating to listen to.
