planes of fame air museum

A really nice museum if you are a aircraft buff. Great displays and refurbished aircraft make it well worth the trip. The airport terminal next to the museum is also worth visiting.

We all enjoyed this, but especially my 8 year old son. He is an airplane buff. A good family activity.

A great small museum 1/2 hr from the Grand Canyon or Williams. Get up close and personal with lots of air plane equipment.

I really found this aircraft museum very interesting and worthwhile. The exhibit is very low key and low in price. Many aircraft, ranging from WWI era through WWII.

This offshoot of the main Planes of Fame at Chino is smaller, not as slick but nevertheless well worth a visit. There's plenty to see, a walk around the outside peeping into the yards is as good as touring the main exhibits. It's position between Williams and the Grand Canyon means it is easy to access, don't miss it if you're in the area.

This place looked OK from the road some cool old planes outside and we were tired of driving so we stopped. Holy cow! The hanger looked average sized and we were not expecting much inside but wow the collection and artifacts inside blew us away!!! This is a must stop for anyone who likes airplanes, mechanical things, boss women in aeronautics, the military or cool stuff so everyone :) if you are headed towards the Grand Canyon South Rim you must stop here!

We stopped by this place on our way back to Williams from the GC.I was disappointed that you can't actually go IN any of the airplanes parked outside, but apparently thats because people had been stealing parts as "souvenirs". A disappointment as I'd have loved to see the inside of the Connie.But as I'm an airplane geek, I still enjoyed walking around them and seeing the bits and bobs in the back (I'd have a field day at an airplane wrecking yard)Inside it's a fairly well laid out museum of older planes as well as some experimental planes, and a gift shop area as well.

This museum was a real treat as was the next door building with the antique cars. Its small and rather a long way from Williams where we were staying. There is a nice looking hotel across the road in the town of Valle.

Wow. What a wonderful collection. Step into history and see aviation and automotive collection masterpieces. Worth every penny!

We saw this Museum on our way to the Grand Canyon and decided to stop on our way back to our hotel. We are glad we did. Very hospitable people. Any one into classic airplanes and history would love this. The Lockheed "Connie", the Mig, the F-86...great. Worth the stop.

If you're into classic airplanes this is a must stop for you.Planes of Fame Air Museum at Williams Arizona is about 24 miles south of the Grand Canyon.The collection consists of rare and interesting airliners like the Lockheed Constellation, Martin 404 and Convair 240 on the outside.Inside there is a great selection of other planes displayed in a very nice museum setting. A German WWI fighter, Grand Canyon transport and a Messerschmitt ME-109 are some of the displays.Worth a visit.

Went for the annual Fly-In and Car Show. It was our first time and have been to many Fly-ins throughout the US. This was a wonderful event and the museum has been well thought out. I am sure we will return for another visit.

We loved the restored planes, the exhibits of artifacts and memorabilia, and the couple who run the museum. Don't forget to stop in and see the little auto museum at the airport building next door. We didn't get a chance to do the tour of the Constellation (an additional $3,) but plan to go back again.

On our way to the Canyon we drove past this place and had to stop. The planes were awesome but Shirley behind the counter made my day. She was not only knowledgeable about the planes...she was so friendly. She gave us great advice about visiting the GC and truly made our day. Please go visit her and support this local gem!

Nice quick stop on the way to the canyon. The kids loved the planes. Lot of cool experimental planes in there and a good bit of reading. Lots to learn in there.
