As stated by others, this is kind of an off beat petting zoo with a wide variety of animals many of which the children can feed. Spend a dollar per child on food and they'll have a great time.
This is a nice, little, non-corporate zoo where you can see and feed all sorts of critters. Definitely worth the minimal entry fee. Make sure to spend the extra buck for the feed--it's worth it.
This Farm and Petting Zoo is a great place to bring kids that love animals. A good variety of goats, sheep, camels, birds and a couple of other surprises. The folks running the place are friendly and take great pride in their animals. It's clean and well laid out with sufficient barriers where they are needed. The animals love having their pictures taken.
I recently visited The Camel Farm in Yuma and found it very interesting and enjoyable. If you enjoy an up close and personal experience with exotic animals, this is the place to go. There is a good variety of animals, most of which are tame enough to feed. The entrance fee is very reasonable and, for a buck, you can purchase a cup of feed which the animal friends appreciate your thoughtfulness...even though they are all well fed and taken care of. The Camel Farm has a variety of animals ranging from camels and goats to donkeys, water buffalo, and even a "zeedonk". You might not spend a full afternoon here, but this place provides those who enjoy contact with furry friends their pet fix. The owners are very friendly and want visitors to enjoy their experience. I had a great time and look forward to returning on my next trip to Yuma.
Liked not only the camels but the water buffalo and a few other desert critters!! Also had peafowls.
I needed some animal input on this last vacation and saw this option on the Yuma AZ website. It was between this and the goat farm....this had more variety, so.....Directions were good and the farm was easy to find, about 10 minutes off the freeway. Camels, a variety of birds (loved the VERY vocal goose), many, many types of goats, coati, donkeys, deer, zdonk(beautiful zebra/donkey cross), and many more.Small, private place....they do rescue work as well when needed.......so if you are expecting a traditional zoo, this isn't it but if you enjoy the animal farm experience...please visit. Our favorites were the Sicilian miniature donkey (what a ham!), the baby camel (very soft and sweet), the friendly goats and the beautiful Zdonk.Worth a visit. Hubby reminds me that as of mid-November 2014 they also have four very sweet chuweenie/poodle puppies looking for good homes.
