Kline Creek Farm started as a family farm in the 1830s. The farm remained the property of the descendents of the original settlers until 1965 when the land was acquired by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. At that time, farmland was quickly being developed in this area and the decision was made to restore the farm and its buildings so that the agricultural heritage of DuPage County would be preserved for future generations.Kline Creek Farm is now a living history, working farm where one can go to get a feel for what life was like on an Illinois farm in the late 1800s. Every hour, on the hour, tours of the old house are given. A bell is rung by one of the costumed interpreters to let visitors know that the house tour is about to begin. I loved the farmhouse with its kitchen and storage pantry, large dining room, formal parlor and a separate family sitting room, and bedrooms. It was filled with all the antqiue things that you usually find in preserved homes and the tour guide, dressed in 1900s garb, was very pleasant and knowledgable. Wood burning stoves kept the rooms warm on a frigid day.The property has several barns and pasture areas for the livestock on site. We saw sheep and newborn lambs, cows, horses, chickens, and even a few bees! Several volunteer farmers work on the farm and they are more than happy to stop their chores to answer your questions and open some gates for you to see the animals. Kline Creek Farm offers year-round programming and is an incredible resource for families in the Western suburbs.

This place is a great place to take your kids and a great time to bond with them but not just that is shows how great nature is and the people there are the nicest people I could ever meet cause I was walking since the farm is kinda far and I got tired and a worker saw me and have me a ride there and back when we were done so that showed me they love people and care about there customers.

This place has farm animals, a hiking trail and you might see a hawk flying above. The people there are dressed like the old days and farm the land without tractors.

The Kline Creek Farm sits on 1110 acres and is a living history farm depicting life as it was in the 1890's. It has original buildings, re-creations, livestock and a lot of activities for families. It was a working farm through the 1960's when it was purchased by the Forest preserve District. It opened to the public in 1984 and since 1989 it has been open year round for activities. We went with our grandchildren and they had a wonderful time exploring, seeing the sheep, horses , lambs and chickens. There was a tour of the house done by Bob, one of the volunteers and he even played the old organ piano which the kids really liked! The following day, they were going to have a sheep sheering program. The beekeeper gave a lot of info and each child received some flower seeds to plant. There was a nice picnic area and a visitor center. Some of the educational programs include harvesting, planting, canning and maple sugaring. The farm is large enough to lend to the feeling of a place to explore, but small enough that young children don't tire from too much walking. I found it a great learning experience and the people working the farm were friendly and approachable.
