I can't believe this company is still operating after all the bad reviews. Their no refund policy locks you in, avoid and save your money, there is ablolutely no guarantee you'll ever get your ride. Its been three years running, I've scheduled nearly every week while in season both sunrise and sunset and it's been cancelation after cancelation even on low wind sunny days. What a scam! The excitement is long gone, if we ever get are ride will be a miracle. A birthday gift for the wife that never gave.

Avoid!!!!DO NOT BUY a ticket with this company!!!Believe me, you'll be sorry.Im trying to schedule a ride since 2009, unbelievable!! It's been 3 years trying.  Of course after you had pay $$$$, they don't really care about you.I can't imagine....365 days in a year and I can't get a ride in a balloon.  They always have a weather excuse on the phone or a pilot can't fly that day specific because doesn't have enough people. Ah, sometimes they call you and cancel because is holiday. Save your money, time and the headache.

These people operate under several different names and all of them are SCAMS! I am joining a suit against them out of Madison Wisconsin. The company is also called The Great American Balloon Company . Pleases don't waste your Money as they do NOT fly. I live in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin & have not seen one balloon in the air this year! The company is owned by Kent Heitzinger, an attorney from Winnetka, Illinois. Apparently he has beem able to get away with these scams for some time.I understand there have been television news exposes in Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin and yet people continue to be taken in by this SCAM!!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOOK HERE! My wife and I have been cancelled on account of weather SIX times. Every time you cancel, they have such a long waiting list that you have to wait another month before they can get you rescheduled. Then you get to that day and its 82 degrees, sunny, no wind, and not a cloud in the sky and you'll get cancelled again because of weather. They have a strict "no refund" policy, so good luck getting your money back. I bought these tickets in May of 2009, and here it is July 2010 and we still haven't been on our balloon ride.

My wife bought me a balloon ride from A Great American Ballon Company for my birthday. They are the company that operates out of the Windy City Balloon Port. They take all of the money up front with a no refund policy. The problem is, whenever we called they never flew (pretty much nobody actually does). They always sited weather problems when, in fact, the weather was beautiful. We were lucky enough to be able to reverse the charges on our credit card. We know of one person who has been successful in taking them to small claims court. Stay away!

These people are a complete scam! We purchased a hot air balloon ride with them in May 2008 and have been canceled 5 times. They have yet to fly out of their Chicago locations...EVER! Look online for information on Kent Heitzinger the president, and look at the "F" rating by the Better Business Bureau (under Great American Balloon Company). Don't even consider giving them your money - you will never see it again. Hopefully you will do your homework and be smarter than I was.
