1950's park forest house museum

Tour a co-op home in the historical town of Park Forest IL. Decorated in the style of the 1950's with all the accessories that a new family would need to live in the first planned community of the 1950's. You will not only learn the history of Park Forest, and how this town began, but you will also see items that were donated from former residents. This is a hands on museum, and you are welcome to look and touch the items. Open the drawers of the vintage furniture and see items, open closets and other nooks and crannies for more treasures. The basement is also packed with relics from life in the 1950's! The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, too. This is a great field trip for small groups who may be studying post WWII history, and a great walk down memory lane for the older generation.
