This place is one of the best I've visited in Florida by far. Though it's a little pricey, ($20 per person, per race of 14 laps apiece), it's entirely worth it. The track doesn't really allow one to reach the posted top speed of 45mph, but the curves require the racer to have such a concentration they may not even care; I know I didn't! The thrill is intensified even more when you bring your friends to race against. I brought my wife;)The staff is friendly, courteous, and just as competitive as the customers, which makes it much more fun. Everyone wants to go fast, and that's what you do at K1. Another cool thing is that 1st place isn't who crosses the line first; it's who achieves the fastest time. In my case, I lost to my wife:/ We're definitely going back before we leave Florida. Hope to see you there!
Electric indoor karting here is awesome! No fumes, quieter... just overall a very nice atmosphere compared to traditional karting. The staff takes their racing quite seriously in that they all seem to have a passion for it. It's always clean, albeit a bit pricey. It's a great place for kids, but also adults. The adult racing league is a great idea!
I would like to say I had a great time at this place. Very competitive staff was friendly. I have previously been to Andretti racing which is more catered to adults in which kids can have a great time as well. This place is more catered to kids. I would recommend giving it a try. It was fun. Check it out for your self
Visited with two 14 yr. Grandkids (boys). This place was the closest thing to genuine road or track racing. Admission was a bit high but reasonably priced (Cost $49. ea. person for 3 long races). They had a blast. Staff were very competent & caring. There are two tracks, a beginning one for younger kids & another for teens/adults. However, I had serious concerns about the maintenance of the karts. Of the 6 carts the boys rode, 3 had issues. Two had brake issues according to the kids & another's steering column broke resulting in an accident. Thankfully, helmets/face shields, seatbelts etc. are required. It's important to report any car problems immediately to staff.
I enjoy Go cart tracks. I often take my son to them and we have fun chasing each other around. First this place is a bit high in price but they do have nice carts. But i have never been to a place that made you go poking slow around curves and not let you slide the tires. They tell you at the outset if yo do it they will pull you off the track., I did it once and the guy started banging a sign and warning me .... so no joy no speed
It takes a bit to get a smile from my teen this place made the magic happen We ended up here by happenstance but really enjoyed our races and the cars. The staff was great and kept the action moving as best they could. The instant printed reports on each drivers race performance were fun to review and compare. Now I am just a bit more apprehensive about when he is behind the wheel of an actual car...
I've been going to K1 for over a year now, according to my profile I have raced 36 races... and honestly this will probably be the last race. Over time we have watched to slow decline in the quality of the karts. The used to be great, I don't expect a go kart to be very smooth but it was fast and fun. Now they just seem like they haven't been maintained very well. Two of my boyfriend's karts the brakes just didn't work, and that happened to me about two visits ago. I stopped the race and asked for a new kart because the brakes didn't work - no matter how many times you try the brake pedal. This time the whole back axel came off of my kart - but no one manning the race noticed. They were bringing everyone in, it was the last lap (the slow lap) and I took a turn and it felt like the whole metal frame fell out and I couldn't even move the car. The kid said my tire came off, but all the tires were on and in tact, but when i looked the frame was on the floor in the back of the kart. These karts need to be maintained! And when someone is driving a kart and says there is something wrong with it you staff shouldn't ignore it and put the kart back out! There are younger kids out there and it could be very dangerous for them and cause some pretty bad accidents that won't injure anyone but may not be anyone's idea of fun. MAINTAIN YOUR KARTS! Changing the tires is not the only maintenance that should be done! Please! I will try the Miami one a shot since it's new and maybe the karts haven't been as beat up. But as for the Ft. Laud location - we're done. Sorry.one more thing - have someone clean the bathrooms - they smell like a port a potty
We are from Massachusetts. We visited the K1 Speed in California a few years ago, our boys were still talking about it! So when I saw that Hollywood, FL had one, I knew I was going to surprize then with another visit. The staff treats everyone with respect. They treat the kids/teen/adults like they are all cool dudes. The cars go super fast. There are two tracks. Head socks and helmets are provided and must be worn. They usually try to seperate out the younger kids from the older kids. We hit a special and each of our two boys got to do three races and the cost was a tad under $100. It's expensive, but a memorable experience. Wished it was part of the Smart Desination package in Florida, it was in Califonia. We were there for about an hour and half. It was August, and it's hot in there! The boys were soaked in sweat, pack a change of clothes. However, there is a large airconditioned area. Enjoy!
Great course, teens had fun, but $$ one ride is $25 per 8 mins. Glad we came for a one time thing. Two courses, indoor and they track speeds competitively.
If you want the fastest carting here you go. The only boring thing is if you bump somebody they slow down all group and you waste time, so be careful and drive safe.
Brought 6 kids midweek day time hours and bought each three races each. We were there for 4 hours painfully waiting for them to use up their races. Plan on having a lot of down time in between each race. Had to wait 15 min just to buy food/drinks. Serious lack of staff! Manager did work with us however I will think long and hard before I come back!
This is not a place I would frequent, but I came with some friends and we all had such a good time we came back a few more times. The cars are great fun. You felt safe and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The facilities were clean and the best part the fun time we had speeding around. A great time had by all
The electric carts really scoot!! For adults, if you've ever driven at a real racetrack, you'll get a kick and a challenge managing the 'gas' and the brakes to get around this course quickly. The marshals have the ability to 'tone down' aggressive drivers but they will let you 'play' as long as you are good. I'd recommend this to anyone. It's a 'do-over' next time we're in the Ft. Lauderdale area but we'll go with a group of friends next time. They do have groups for inexperienced younger kids too.
$318 for 6 people and 3 races each - worth it.Very Fast cars but under the control of the marshals. They can reduce your speed to allow others to fast or grind you to a halt if there is a mishap on the track. Nevertheless, is a fast and amazing experience, even if I did come 5th out of 6 in all 3 races. Each race is approx 14laps and you get about 10 - 15mins between races. Pretty good value for money but expensive when you are paying for 6 (as is everything). Worth a visit if you have teenage or adolescent children or even young at heart parents. Good fun.
had a really good time once we actually were able to get into a car. that however took over 1 and 1/2 hours. we should have called in advance to ask about the wait. also i brought my grandson (15 yrs old) and they throttled his car so he could nt keep up with me (and i dont go that fast).. they should have told us that up front. my grandson was very dissapointed.
