I've seen two plays, two dance recitals, and a classical music concert here and have really enjoyed every show. The Barre Opera House is a great resource to have in town.

The Barre Opera House is a great mid-sized (600+) performance space providing a variety ranging from local dance recitals to world class acts, recently including the talented Robert Cray and the amazing Mavis Staples. Shows with intermissions have homemade cookies and a selection of hot & cold drinks for refreshments. Come witness something wonderful seated in a local treasure or just listen quietly for one of the several reported "phantoms" haunting this opera house.

Wonderful venue, great show. Always a great time in the Barre Opera House! Robert and all three of his backup band were excellent musicians. A true blues legend!

Outstanding venue for concerts, theater, and stage performances. Comfortable seating and elegant atmosphere. The only improvement I can think of would be the addition of wine and light refreshments in the lobby.

the opera house is in need of some money. There are definitely better seats than others in the BOH. We attended several Orchestra performances as well as comedy shows. When we were In our seats during the comedy show we could hear noise outside. hmmmm

Try to plan a trip to this area when you can coordinate it with one of their ongoing performances. Varied choice or artists and beautiful house. Well worth a visit.

Fun small town venue. The place is in need of some updating. The staff was friendly. Overall it just seemed like a high school theatre.

This historic performance space has been sensitively adapted for wheel chair access. Plenty of parking behind the building; make the first right past it and turn right again into a large parking area. Acoustics are generally good-except in the first 2 rows down front. Counter intuitive, but somehow the sound seems to "jump over" those first rows. Sight lines are generally good except from extreme sides. A lovely place to experience a play or concert.

When I went there it was a well run space, and I hear about a lot of performances there

This old opera house is beautifully restored and provides a wonderful space for local productions as well as touring groups - plays and concerts of all kinds. Good acoustics and comfortable seats with good views of the stage from most. Most recently saw Judy Collins who was great.

Attended the spring Green Mountain Youth Symphony at the Barre Opera House. The Opera House was built in 1899 (according to the cornerstone). The auditorium is a beautiful and well maintained with excellent acoustics. The GMYS included four different groups of musicians ranging in age from maybe 3rd or 4th grade through high school seniors. The music was outstanding. The schedule of coming events included opera, a fiddle fest, and a performance by Judy Collins.
