As good as I thought the Swanton Historical Society was, this place is what small town museums all strive to be. It is a two-story, well-organized collection of artifacts, archives and displays that give an extraordinary view of Highgate, the surrounding area, and the history of small-town life in a town over 200 years old, and its origins that are even older. The Curator, Charlie Nye is a wealth of knowledge and a great guide to this wonderful museum. And they run off of donations!
