Not as large as nearby Breitenbach winery but they have very good wines and very helpful staff at the sampling bar.
We took our bed and breakfast guests to Silver Moon on a wine tasting tour and they absolutely loved it! They bought several bottles of wine and especially enjoyed the dessert wines. The only reason I gave a #4 rating instead of #5 is that I personally like dry wines like Chardonay and Merlot and they don't have that kind.
Stopped here while visiting Amish Country! Silver Moon is so cute and easy to get to! The wine selection is wonderful and the ladies who run the tastings are very fun and friendly.Left with a couple of bottles to take home!
We went for a tasting and got to try quite a few different wines. But they were out of the one we really wanted to try, left with 3 bottles of wine and ended up going back the day after and they were putting labels on the one we wanted to try but they were out of! We got to try that and ended up with 2 bottles of wine the second day. The person there was amazing and just so nice! She was so excited to see us when we cam back the second day! It was so nice there!
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this winery. I love the decor. We went at the beginning of spring and we sat and sipped our glass of wine while watching the it snow. It such a neat place. There were many sweet whites that I loved. My boyfriend also found a few dry reds that he really enjoyed.Actually 2 of my favorite wines come from here, the Kiwi melon and eves delight.
I discovered this little winery from the road sign on the Interstate. I was planning a "moon" themed series of events, and "Silver Moon" fit in perfectly. I sampled the wines during the Summer of 2012, and they were light, sweet, and they suited my palate just fine. I took two cases with me then, and came back a couple of months later for 5 more cases. The event was a success, and the wine was a hit. Favorites include Romance Red, Eve's Delight and Watermelon Blush. If you like fruit wines, or fun, sweet perfect-for-Summer wines, this place is a "must try" place for you. Like a nice dry Cabernet or Merlot? Keep driving.
The wines were not dry enough for us, but the way they let you get samples and then sit at little tables, with complimentary appetizers was so fun! You paid 25 cents a taste, so you could easily try several----and they served them all at once, so you could taste test easily at your little table
Doing a tour of the area wineries, and stopped in here. It has a good ambiance, we tasted several of their wines while enjoying the surroundings. It was really busy that day with all the wine tour guests coming thru!
This small winery is clean and compact with some delicious and unique red wine choices. The white wine we tried in the short time we stayed, seemed average The server rushed us along although there was sufficient time before closing to try several options and to buy some favorite bottles. Sadly, we left without buying any. It has a good location near 2 other wineries.
Wine was great, especially the ports and sweet wines. Not sure if the other reviewers were blind but there was both outdoor seating (where we sat), as well as tables inside. Easy to get into and out of, the staff was super friendly and helpful as well. We will be back!
This little winery, as other reviewers have stated, is just set up more like a store, although there are several tables to sit add which may have been added recently. They did have a nice variety of clever wine related items. I did not end up purchasing any wine here, but I would definitely try again.
This is a young winery. They are still learning how to mature wines. The lady serving said they tasted a wine before bottling and wanted it to be sweeter so they added sugar. The wines were watery and sweet. A hidden treasure here is you can make your own peanut butter.
They have great wine here and reasonable prices. However, I agree with the other review. There is nowhere to sit and enjoy the wine on the premises (at least that we saw) and it is more like a store. The girl who did our tasting was not very informative or friendly. But, the wine was good! They should up their game a little, have a little sitting area, offer light snacks....they'd probably bring in a ton more business.
They have alot of wines to choose from and you are able to sample all of them first. But this place feels very self guided and more like a store than a winery. I stop here to buy a bottle of Romance Red every time I'm in Amish country and every time, I've just made my purchase and left. No one talks to you or offers you any information about the wines. Even when you are sampling, they just give you the cup and stare at you.
