We went here for the wedding of our son. It is a very pretty campground with a nice lodge. The bathhouses seem to be nice as well. We rented a cabin that sleeps 8 for the weekend. We looked online and saw that the cabins had bunk beds and that you needed to bring your own linens, towels, ect. We were told by the brides parents that they gave a discount for wedding party, well they don't!!! We even told them we were the grooms parents, but that did not matter to them. We had 7 people staying in this cabin that sleeps 8, including a 76 year old grandmother who just finished chemo, and a 8 month pregnant woman. The living room had "one" chair. Yes, one chair for 8 people. The only picture in the living room was a framed NO Smoking or pets sign. The beds are all bunk beds and some of them are short, very short. No dimensions were given online. The mattresses are about 3 inches think and basically a cot mattress and about 15 years old, or at least look that old. they are in terrible shape (I have attached pictures to see). You can see the foam. It was the first time I thought I was going to get bed bugs. When you lay on the mattresses you sink right to the board, and basically sleep on a board all night. By the second night, we had to send the grandmother and pregnant woman to a hotel. I have had more comfortable beds at a church camp. The hot water heater in the bathroom does not hold enough hot water for one person to get shower. The kitchen was suppose to have 8 servings of everything and only had 4 coffee cups and others supplies were lacking as well. So one chair and 8 terrible beds made for a very uncomfortable weekend. All this for the low price of $150/night. I have stayed in fully furnished cabins for that price or less. Also, as you walk around the campground there are "NO" signs everywhere giving it a very unfriendly feel. I was afraid to walk as I might get in trouble. I let management know how we felt and asked for a partial refund due to the lack of sleep on the nasty beds and they told me "NO." They like that word. They told me I could see online the sleeping situation and the size of the beds and i could have called and asked any questions. Well, funny thing is they don't post a picture of their nasty beds on their website so you can see how bad of shape they are in. I did call and ask about several things, and they were never real friendly and once they were suppose to call me back and give me an answer and never did. Not the friendliest staff around. On the plus side the lodge is a nice place to have a wedding reception.
We decided to stay at this camp during a recent trip to visit Millersburg, OH. The site was an ok size. A little smaller than what we are used to. I would also say that you have to be a pretty good driver to be able to navigate your rv though the roads on this campground. Not only are they narrow but many of the sites are on a pretty steep hill. The hook ups on the site were not in a good spot. The electric connection was at the very front of the site while the water was at the very back and the sewage was in the middle. On our next visit to this area we will be looking for a different campground.
We took our 11yo granddaughters last week and they had a great time. FYI Thursdays' admission is buy 1, get 1 free. We lounged on the grass while they swam, jumped on the multiple trampolines, slid down the sliding boards and had fun on the electric boats battling other kids with the squirt hoses. All 4 of us rode the paddle boats (1/2 hour was plenty!) and played putt putt golf. They also loved the zip line (beginners). There was an extra charge for each activity but was reasonable. We took our lunch but the snack bar offers a typical menu of burgers, hot dogs, pizza and more. The 34 flavors of soft serve were a big hit! The staff are very nice and accomodating. The whole place is kept very clean. The only complaint of mine is that the restrooms/changing rooms need updated and were a bit smelly.
We had heard great things about this campground. The grounds are beautiful but it was so packed with a basketball tournament with a bunch of drunks. The band played until midnight which made it really hard for anyone to get to sleep! The employees were okay but not super friendly. The new zipline looks cool but quite pricey so we didn't do it. Way too much as we had 5 kids with us. The boats were fun but we were charged wrong and the beach area closed at 7 which was a bummer. Not sure we will come back.
I have been going here since the 80's Its had some big changes. We still love going now and taking my son. Good food and meal deals. We have rented a small cabin before and its so nice to have a fire and listen to the band's. Great place for parties, family reunions and good times. They have great deals like bogo days and stuff to save money.
Great day trip or weekend get away. No camper, no problem....the cabins are adorable. Kids out playing everywhere....lucky parents to have a place kids can play like kids without worry.
This place is dirty. I stayed in a house it had old sheets with misterious stains bugs and even roaches that was under the bed. The staff was helpful but the management was inept. This campground came highly recommend I wish I did not waste my money. It is definitely not a resort it has at most a 3 acre pond , putt putt, and a 9 hole 3 par golf course and that is it not a resort. I would say it is more of a nice trailer park than a resort.
First of all I'll start out by saying I have the pleasure of knowing this family personally and they are the most wonderful people you'll ever meet. What a great family!! Wood's Tall Timber is amazing, everything from swimming, to boat rental, camping, the cabins, putt putt, par 3 and the lodge, it's all great! The putt putt is a blast!! If you're planning a wedding or a reunion I'd suggest looking into the lodge, it's soooo pretty!!! I can't say enough good things about Wood's and everyone working there. Everything's great!
We loved this campground. It is beautiful, quiet and very clean. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Sites are spacious and well cared for. We will definitely return.
Nice place to go with the family. The blanket area is a little crowded and not much parking, but a lot of fun for everyone.
We loved this place! The place was so new, clean, and beautiful! We loved our campsite. We went with friends and they kept us all together. The lake is very clean with new sand on the bottom and on the beach. The beach got crowded on Saturday because people can buy day passes. The owner clearly cares about the campground and how everyone is doing, as he stopped to chat with us a couple of times. My kids loved the ice-cream bar as well. The have a snack shack that serves pizza and nacho type stuff, if you want to take a break from cooking Otherwise, bring your own meals!
My husband and I stayed at Wood's Tall Timber Lake from 8/30/13 to 9/2/13, over Labor Day weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful. The park is immaculate, very clean and well taken care of for the most part. There was one exception to the cleanliness of the park. Someone had made a mess with feces in the ladie's bathroom. I discovered it early Sunday evening and the mess was still there on Monday morning. Scheduled cleanup of the bathrooms would alleviate these type of situations. The following issues are a few things to be aware of before reserving a space at this park. The campsites have been built into the side of a very steep hill and are very close together. We were in lot D14 and the back of our pop up was 5 feet away from the tent at the next campsite. Due to the steep grade of the hill and tight spaces I was wary of how we had to park our camper. My husband made sure everything was secure. Please review the planned activities before you reserve a space. If you are looking for rest and relaxation and a band or a DJ is scheduled, you will be unable to find either one until 11:00 at night. The first night they had a band scheduled. The singer was terrible and as the night wore on it only get worse, think Tiny Tim. Our lot was across from the place where they played, and there was no escaping the music. The following night they had a DJ. They began with Top 40 country music, moved onto Top 40 pop music and then they started playing rap songs. Amongst the many inappropriate rap songs was Sir Mix-a-lot, Baby got Back. A rap song filled with curse words and sexual innuendo, definitely inappropriate for the children that were listening. Once again there was no escaping the music. I could not go to sleep until after 11:00 p.m. for the second night in a row. We found that this campsite was not for us and do not plan to stay again. My husband and I wanted to rest and relax, planned activities are not necessary. Planned activities are fine, but I felt like I was trapped. Short of closing up the popup and heading home we could not escape the music. This campground is definitely geared towards a younger crowd. Even at that the music played by the DJ was not appropriate for children.Keep in mind the terrain and the planned activities before you reserve a spot.
Would like to say this RV resort is a very nice park. The owners have poured money into making this resort a one of a kind. The roads are in perfect condition, fresh pavement and concrete with drainage grates at each site apron. The overall condition of the park is extremely clean, the bath houses and grounds are immaculate. The resort is a mix of Class A through travel trailers with a fraction of the seasonals that you would typically find. They also have very modern Cottages and Mini Cottages for rent. The store was well stocked for a holiday and the park or lake was not overly crowded for the size. The lake is nice and clean with inflatables for the kids to play on. Small sandy beach on one side of the lake and nice fishing pavilions on the other side. Great snack bar too with all the goodies right on the beach. My 17 and 12 year old boys both liked it and would like to go again which is a plus. Good family park but they still let you party if you like until quiet time at 11:00pm.We went on 7/4/13 weekend, they had a DJ on Saturday night for the kids and a great fireworks show.Gas and electric golf carts are allowed at the resort. This place is like a smaller version of Clay's Park (100% better) without the attitude or issues with the owners laws. Wood's Tall Timber Lake Resort welcomed our group of 9 trailers to camp right next to each other and HELD our reserved sites for us.The only negative thing that I would warn you about is the mountain the resort sits on. The camping areas are divided into three fingers that go up the mountain. A & B are tight but D, E, & F are tough to get into with a large unit. The roads leading in and to the sites are tight but one way traffic helps that. I was a little nervous but made it without damage to and from the camp site. Just take your time. The sites vary in size and they are great at fitting you in to the best site. We stayed in A18 ( great site with woods in the back and passenger side.) with a 34' travel trailer, an F250 long bed and a golf cart. All 3 fit in the gravel driveway. Most of the sites we saw also came with a cement pad to park the trailer next to with a picnic table and fire pit out front. Look at the site map, pick a single site on the outer edges, next to the woods. The center sites are dual trailer sites.Happy camping!
