butterfly house

The Butterfly House is always a nice treat when going out to South Bass Island. It is a small place but lots of butterflies! You can stay as long as you like. I advise going out at the beginning or end of the summer season to avoid the crowds if you have a choice. It will give you more time to photograph the butterflies.

I found the Butterfly House very relaxing and informative. It was cool learning the names of different butterflies and seeing so many unique ones. Its hot and humid in the house so leave your coats in the car! Bring a really good camera for some close up on butterflies. They have seats where you can just sit and watch. Their gift shop was very impressive!

located at Perry's Cave and Adventure Center. a must see for the kids. you get to walk into the arboretum with the butterflies in their habitat and check 'em out.

Large number of butterflies, friendly staff, and clean environment. Very soothing to visit. A nice spot to check out on the island.

This is also a wonderful place to visit. The butterflies are beautiful and I'm happy that I decided to stop in.

What an awesome experience!! The Staff are chock full of information. They DO land on you. The gift shop is a bargain and all of it is very well maintained. A "Must See".

My wife & I visited here when we were in Put In Bay. A fun place with lots of butterflies to view. Beautiful Gardens also. A nice shop and lots of other things for family's to do on the property.

We saw many different types of butterflies. There were a wide variety of species and colors to enjoy. An employee was available in the butterfly house and was very informative and you could peer through a window to see the various stages from chrysalis to butterfly. It was warm and humid in the butterfly house to mimic their natural habitat so be prepared. There are plenty of benches throughout to have a seat and and just watch them fly by. This attraction is very good considering the low cost.

The Put in Bay (PIB) Butterfly house is one of my favorite places on PIB. It is a great to just relax and look at all of the butterflies. The house has a large range of butterflies. From little brown or blue ones to giant brown spotted ones. The butterfly house is great for kids who like nature. Be sure to wear bright colors if you go. The butterflies love bright shirts. Overall, I think the butterfly house is a great attraction on PIB.

We had a group with 6 kids, ranging from 6 months-9 years. The toddlers liked the Butterfly House, but those two were it. The adults didn't care. The butterflies were pretty, but the house isn't very big. We bought the package deal with doing 4 attractions at Perry's Cave...not sure it was worth it.

Just beautiful. We also got to watch a new shipment come in. It would be great to see them released. The colors are amazing. The store is fun as well.

This is our 2nd trip to the butterfly house and enjoyed it both times. So many butterflies flying around, of all different colors. Kept clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Must go if you take a trip to the island!

Yes it's $8 but worth it if you love nature! It's such a blessing to see these beauties up close! The gift shop is amazing and facilities are very well maintained and clean! We go every year and are never disappointed.

Only thing that changed since I visited in the past is you have to pay to see the butterflies. In the past when I came this was one of the attractions that you just walked thru to see. Now it is close to $8.00 to get inside.
