My favorite Christmas movie so had to check this out! Very cool experience. Great place to pick up a souvenir. Donate..because the community needs it. In a run down area but the house is very well preserved. No one shot their eye out today.

The place is very interesting if you like the movie. It is the original house redone to look like the movie. What made it good was the guide telling us the stories of how the house came to be as a museum. Then they let you go and take pictures around the house. We also went to the bar across the street from the house were the new owners found the original owner. That was as interesting as the house. Like stepping into a dive bar from the 70`s They were all very nice and eager to tell stories about the happenings of the house across the street. We had burgers, beer and bowles on there old machine was a great ending to the visit

Over in the Tremont district, the Victorian house used for exterior shots in the 1983 yuletide classic movie, "A Christmas Story," offers daily tours ($10 for adults). The interior has been remodeled to replicate the Parkers' home, right down to the fragile and nasty leg table lamp at the front window and even nastier bar of Lifebuoy soap in Ralphie's bathroom.

We love the movie and was excited to see the house too! The day we showed up, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Buy tickets across the street at the museum for an upcoming time slot. Our tickets were $10.50 each. We were told lots of neat facts about the making of the movie and allowed to tour the home. The museum has many of the props from the movie, and there is a store to purchase souvenirs too. The guides are very informative and friendly and encourage you to ask them questions. Feel free to pose with the indoor props in the home too! We were really glad to get to visit and would recommend it!

We didn't get to go in the museum, since we went later at night. It was what we expected to see, though, and kind of magical with the snow surrounding it.

Had to come here when visiting Cleveland. We had a great time and the staff is very nice, also. If you like the movie, you'll never be able to watch it the same after being here.

What a great place to visit. Fan or not of the movie, you will still smile visiting this place. Gift shop alone makes it worth the visit. Enjoy it if you're in the area.

We wouldn't have known it was in Cleveland but it was listed on our hotel directory of attractions. We are huge Christmas Story fans, but we didn't have big expectations, it seemed like it could be lame. We were pleasantly surprised. It is SO MUCH FUN! Our tour guide gave us unexpectedly interesting info about the making of the movie, what scenes were filmed where (many were filmed in Ontario, including most interiors), and the interesting story of the fellow who bought the house and started the museum. The museum has fun exhibits and video. The gift shop is a hoot, full of leg lamps. We spent an hour and were delighted.

If you love the movie (and I do!) this is a must-see. You will learn so much about the filming of the movie, trivia, and tid-bits that you didn't know. Be sure to include the house tour, museum, and the gift shop!

If you are a fan of the movie this is a must do! We went in February so we were lucky enough to really get to experience the house. We hid under the sink, my husband received the bowling ball on the couch, we held the leg lamp right out of the crate!! And our tour guide was amazing, she made the tour!! The gift shop was fun as well as the museum. And as far as negative reviews about the neighborhood we paid $5.00 to park spoke with the owner who was extremely nice. Hard working American family neighborhood such a shame people are that judgmental. Go enjoy and have fun!!

This is not in the best part of the neighborhood, but if you like the movie, this is a fun place to see. It is the actual house from the movie and they have redone the inside to try and match the movie. It was fun to hear the different stories from the movie and to see all the memorabilia. They also have a gift shop across the street.

We easily found street parking and enjoyed visiting the museum and gift shop too. The line was a little long for the house so we just walked around the outside which was fine. The samples of memorabilia were well-described and displayed. Too bad there is a nice coffee or sandwich shop nearby.

If you love the movie it is worth a visit. This is a regular house in an older residential neighborhood in Cleveland. The house is in immaculate condition. Start by parking across the street at the gift shop. You need to get a ticket to go into the house. The price was just under $11.00. Inside the house you can see the famous lamp and the crate that it came in. The kitchen has the turkey dinner that was sabotaged by the Bumpus' dogs. You can also see the fence and the shed in the backyard where the bad guys tried to invade the home. Everything in the house is hands-on. You are free to pick up and handle everything in the house, including the leg lamp.Very few scenes were actually shot in the house itself, only those where the camera looked out of a door or window to the outside. The house was actually too small to accommodate the actors, film crew, cameras, lights, etc. for indoor scenes. If you don't want to spend the money to go into the house you can still take pictures of the exterior, even of the leg lamp through the front window, just like in the movie. But it is definitely worth going inside the house, if for no other reason than to talk to the guides. They are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the movie, particularly which scenes were filmed inside the house.

My husband and I took friends from Cincinnati and a couple of native Clevelanders for our first ever visit to the house. Our tour guide was excellent! He talked quickly but gave us a ton of fun information and encouraged us to hold the "leg lamp", try on the pink bunny suit and stick our head under the sink. One big guy in our tour DID try on the bunny outfit and craziness ensued. The museum is really interesting, too, since it tells much more about the fake snow, the department store, etc. Definitely worth the visit!

I dragged my family out here when we were in Cleveland to watch the Blue Jays play the Indians at Progressive Field on easter weekend a couple years ago. The house is in a residential neighborhood as many have stated, although I didn't find it to be scary or dangerous, perhaps a bit rundown, working class neighborhood, but never felt unsafe. We got lucky because that day there wasn't another person there, so we roamed around the outside looking at the house, peeking in the windows and taking our pictures. The house and museum were not open which is fine as we are a family of five and I wasn't about to shell out that much money for a short tour. It was neat just to be there and see it in person. So basically if you are a fan of the movie, you'll enjoy seeing the house, save some money and dont do the tour, google info on the film if you want to know more. You got to go once if you are in the area, dont make a special trip for this place however.
