If you are looking for a decent clean place on a great lake this is your place! Lots of paved and unpaved hiking trails, fishing dock, tennis courts, golf course, nature center, horse back riding, and an abundance of wildlife especially deer. We stay in the cabins. They are very basic and clean. They do supply some basic dishes and linens. You may want to bring items you will definately need as not all dishes get left in every cabin. Do bring a pillow. Love the log furniture! There is lake on two sides of the cabin area so you don't have to look far for a water view.

we love coming to the park for weekend stays. Have brought our RV and stayed in 2 of the campgrounds and those are always well-kept and quiet. Absolutely love the paved biking/walking trails. At the resort, we use the pool, tennis and basketball courts as well as trying out a well-worn shuffleboard and playground for the kids. We aren't golfers but the course is gorgeous with several holes lakeside. Great place to relax

Sequoyah State Park is a beautiful park full of campsites, fishing opportunities, hiking paths, a nice nature center, a scenic golf course, and nice playgrounds. We stay yearly at the Sequoyah Lodge (formerly Western Hills). More a motel than a hotel, it's barely average for service, food, and amenities, but is going to be undergoing a major renovation this year.

Very quiet park after Labor Day. We drove through a beautiful main winding drive lined with huge pine trees. We saw deer on the side of the road. It looked as if the main lodge was undergoing major renovations and was closed. You can, however, stay in cabins (which are not too modern) and a 'bunkhouse' lodge which looked like a motel. It appeared that since the main lodge was closed, there probably would not be food service available (restaurant in the lodge). The lake is beautiful and large and always makes me wonder why there is not more available to take advantage of such beauty! You can camp at the park for a fee and there are trails for walking/biking and horseback riding on a trail as well. They also have a beautiful golf course. Hopefully when the lodge is remodeled, it will bring new life to such a beautiful park.

We did not do anything at the park, spent our time driving around the countryside. We had hoped to rent a boat for a day but, it rained and turned off too cool for boating. The park is well maintained, clean and all safety features in place.

Park is a beautiful drive...also has horseback riding, golf course and a fantastic nature center with animals both indoor and outdoor for viewing. Lots of deer throughout the park at the right time of day

Sequoyah State Park is a vintage facility on the shores of Ft. Gibson Lake. We took advantage of a cool and rainy Oklahoma forecast, for a one-nighter in one of the nearly 60 year old cabins.Phone reservations were made just one day ahead of our trip and were a breeze. We reserved a dog-friendly cabin, which turned out to be part of a four-plex of adjoining accomodations. In spite of being almost as old as myself, our cabin was big enough for two people and our little dog and was clean, tidy and functional. It had a big microwave, a two-burner glasstop stove, refrigerator and just enough pots, pans and dishes. The floors were tiled throughout. The double bed was comfortable. A 32-inch flatscreen TV had about a dozen channels. The air conditioner worked fine and a ceiling fan worked just fine.We opted for brats on the charcoal grill just outside. The park was pretty quiet during our midweek stay. We were the only occupants in our four-plex. At night, it was very quiet and calm.We went through the breakfast buffet the next morning. Not a huge selection, but good scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. The buffet also included cold breakfast items, some fruit and pastries. In summary, the cabins are just fine. There's no wifi, but that was okay with me. Wifi is available in the main lodge. The park has a variety of activities, including boat rentals, horse riding, a wildlife center and very nice golf courseWe will go back again. Checkout was $95, including room, taxes and the ten dollar dog fee.

I wish I knew about this place when my kids were small, although we all had a blast as adults. The cabins are great, the lodge rooms need and will be updated this yr but are very clean. The grounds are beautiful and very well manicured. The pool was great, the marina staff were wonderful, the nature center is a very nice. Decent little restaraunt. Tons of amenities from volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, marina, nature center, hay rides, play gound, lodge dance lessons then lodge dance party the next night. Beautiful lake views all around you. Go here, you will not be disappointed.

Everything seemed to be so well kept. We went around to check out the camping areas and RV parks and the Marina before we left all looked very nice. We stayed in a cabin and enjoyed it very nice.

We stayed here just for one night with our RV. We had to stay in the Choctaw camp because the other one with electric, water and sewer was already full, but I have to say I glad we had to go to this camp. It didn't have concrete slabs, but the lots were further apart from each other, so you got a little privacy. It was beautiful around there you could see the lake from the campgrounds and there was a swimming beach within walking distance. I did not swim when we were there, because we had other things we were doing for the weekend. I saw a lot of beautiful birds, so if you are a bird watcher you can stay entertained. I wish I had been able to visit the nature building, but we tried to go on our way out the naturalist was going to lunch.

We stayed overnight here on cabin 363. The view of the lake both inside through the picture windows and outside the cabin was spectacular. If you want all the comforts of home in a Park setting, this is it! Reasonably priced @ $79.69 and MUCH quieter than a hotel. Also, if you have kids, they can run around outside & soak up sunshine! Lots of benches to sit on near the lake for reading or just resting. Relax. Listen to the birds. Watch for deer. We actually liked this one better than Beaver's Bend since it was half the price. Bring your groceries & enjoy, whether it's a picnic or an overnight stay.

We drove 3 hrs just to take our pontoon boat out on the lake. I had stayed at the lodge about 5 yrs ago but had never been on the lake. We had a flat tire on our boat trailer and had to spend 2 hrs in Tulsa to get it fixed, we almost turned around and went home. Glad we didn't the beauty of,the lake made up for the tire problems. We rode around the lake for about 2 1/2 hrs. and I wish it were closer to home. We had a wonderful time.

Our family stays here every 4th of July and we love it! They have activities for adults and the little ones. We love the pool and splash pad for the kids! We always look forward to coming back every year. Oh, we also love the nature center and the deer that come up to see you at dusk!
