This is the best collection of American Western art I have ever seen. Gorgeous works by Thomas Moran, Joseph Henry Sharp, George de Forest Brush and Charles Russell. Loved seeing the Remington sculptures. Really wonderful.

They have an extensive art collection and great exhibits. We had previously seen a great exhibit on George Washington-his life and times.

This is a delightful collection of serious western art assembled by Thomas Gilcrease. In addition to the massive collection of western art, there is worthwhile art from around the world and many items created within Oklahoma. The basement contains massive amounts of western artifacts housed in drawers and all are searchable on their computers. In addition to the art and artifact collections, the surrounding gardens are a visual treat as well. A restaurant within the museum serves fine food at reasonable prices. The Gilcrease Museum is a must if visiting Tulsa for two or three days

They have many special exhibits, but I alway go to the basement where they have drawers full of artifact that one can cross-reference on the computers they have available.

One of the gems of Tulsa. Can't miss for anyone remotely interested in Western Art. If you spend 3 days in Tulsa, it is a must. If you live here and haven't been, then you must go.

Gilcrease is ever a delight to behold with many showings of art from around the world as well as native Oklahoman's creations. You could easily spend a week in this lush setting with flower beds to put a smile on your face as you enter this lovely museum.

I only had 45 minutes before closing time, the security guard helped explain what was where, very well. I may be a bit skewed by this short visit, as I thought it better to hurry through and see almost all instead of focus on a little. There is a great collection of southwest art and native American art. This is not a very popular style, so seeing this museum was a welcome change and great experience.

It would be easy to spend most of a day at Gilcrease. We spent about 3 hours, and barely skimmed the surface of the Native American collection. If you are a fan of Frederic Remington, you will be in heaven. I had no idea how prolific he was!

I take my kids there every month on Saturday. Free admissions and great activities (for these Saturdays only). Plus, you can show your kids all the great art and traveling galleries they get. Enriching and fun!

When in Tulsa visiting try to plan at least a few hours to go enjoy the wonderful art at Gilcrease Museum.

Western art galore! Indian artifacts. Bronzes. This is a must see. We are going to the Philbrook tomorrow.

Whether or not you like Western art, or even are an art fan, this place is worth the trip. One of best collections in the US, very well displayed, with easy parking, a nice building, and a restaurant with high quality food, reasonably priced.

One of the best museums you'll find in the U.S. Probably the best North American Indian museum in the country. They have many original Bierstadt, Moran and Remmington pieces. I was taken by surprise to find they had Charles Wilson Peale portraits of James Madison and George Washington...and the "End of the Trail" statue.Do not miss Gilcrease museum.By the way, they have a wonderful restaurant.

If you love Native American art then you would enjoy the museum but if not the park surrounding the museum is worth the stop it is a great place to walk. It is a little peaceful hideaway in the city where you can sit and be in nature for some serenity.
