Saw "She Loves Me" over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. It was a wonderful production that I and my family thoroughly enjoyed.
What a gem. This is a great small venue, with talented stage decor and actors, we have enjoyed every performance. Even the musicals are fun.
I have season tickets and have had for years. The price is pretty reasonable and the plays are usually well done. I just saw "Young Frankenstein" I would say that is a "do not miss". It was really funny and the acting was fantastic, especially the characters playing Young Frankenstein, and Igor, but they were all good.
This is such a beautiful venue! I fell in love with it the first time I went. It's so great that Lake Oswego has its own theatre. Sometimes funny shows, sometimes you can even catch a serious play here like ART in 2011.They have a passion to present growing artists and really strongly have a purpose to inspire youth in that direction. They have added a lovely space in the lobby for drinks before and during the intermissions. They have special events like their Big Band Evening and on Wed performances sometimes Wine Wednesdays as well where you can get a special discount if you are under 30 I believe. Some of the best actors in Portland have performed there and it's just a beautiful way to spend an evening or matinee.
We've been season ticket holders for many years. This small intimate theater doesn't have a bad seat in it. the plays are varied & well done.
My husband and I and several different couples have been coming here for years. Every year our friends and us subscribe to this theater, (we get together before and have dinner then go to the play together). They have been remodeling for a while to get more seats in, and a better lounge with café tables and chairs, people gather to have coffee, wine, and or cookies between acts.I think the costumes, staging, acting, singing and orchestra are top notch. That's why their patrons keep supporting this theater and why we drive the 45min. there and back home all season, to have a laugh, a smile, and to tap my feet along with the music and watch some good acting.
Great venue for small production musical theatre. Second hand knick-knack shop upstairs seems out of place. The Rotary Club keeps it afloat as kind of a mult-purpose, multi-activity center.
We are so fortunate to have access to wonderful productions in an intimate setting (not a bad seat in the house) at reasonable prices. Add the benefit of easy, free off-street parking and you have the makings of a wonderful night out! The shows always have talent from the local community as well as from seasoned performers from larger venues! The Theatre is located in an old historic building (formerly a school) and is well maintained.
I have seen numerous shows here and have never been disappointed. The quality of the productions is always high and yet the price is so reasonable. There is ample free parking behind the building. Better stuff than at the high price venues downtown!
We attended "Lakewood in Lights"--a annual event that is both a fun-raiser and a fund-raiser. Actors from various productions sang and entertained to raise money for the Center's Young Artists program. I have had season tickets here for 30 years and virtually every production has stand-out performances. Although many performances sell-out--check at the boxoffice. They often have season ticket holder's tickets who can't make a particular performance.
saw spamalot (think monty python) last nite -- another wonderful show with great singing -dancing and that monty python humor---have never seen a bad show here- theater is small enough that there isnt a bad seat in the housenext production is "inspecting carol" a comedy-- just bought my tix online--- show runs 11/1 thru 12/8
There are not many theaters where you get free parking, just outside the theater door but this is one of them. The theater seating is small and I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. There is handicap seating for those in need with wheelchairs. The sound system is good and you are front row even if you are in the back row. You can see and and hear the actors! Prices are always in the $35 range and I have enjoyed every play I have been to there. If you arrive early they sell wine by the glass.
A great little show! Many beautiful booths of arts and craft. Nice setting. Great music.....FREE!!!!!! Patrick Lamb was awesome Saturday night...people playing tennis were dancing!!!!!
High quality productions, comfortable seating in a rather intimate setting (only 9 rows deep), off street parking in a small town with many good restaurants nearby. What's not to like? Every theater season has at least one show to suit our taste.
See the shows, decide for yourself. How lucky we are to have this cultural center in our community.LauraBernard C. ChocolatesLake Oswego, OR.
