This area is best on foot, so park and take in the sights, sounds and food as you take in the sea lions, fishing boats, historic buildings, gift and art shops. Rogue Brewing is a popular stop off spot or find an espresso shop to keep you going. Ice cream, candy and restaurants for every pocket book can be found.
I love to walk the Bayfront. I enjoy browsing in the shops and seeing the murals and the sea lions. Sometimes I eat or get a coffee somewhere along there. It is a comforting ritual for me to walk and wander. It is a plus for visitors that there are public restrooms and parking.
Usually we walk the whole Bayfront but today we opted to take the children to see the Sea Lions. There were more than usual and it was a beautiful day. The baby was afraid of the noise and the toddler didn't take much interest in the Sea Lions. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves just watching the Sea Lions. The view of the Bridge from the pier was beautiful.
So much to see! Murals cover some of the fish plant walls. The smell of the bay (at high tide!) is fabulous. The barking of sea lions on the breakwaters and floats is charming. Guests are enchanted!I love to go down to the bayfront when the sun hasn't quite come up. The silver of the water, the reflections on the street and the early morning laborers bring home that this is a working bayfront and has been for years. Best place in the world to be.
This was one of our favorite places on our recent trip to Newport. There was so much to see and we spent quite a bit of time walking and enjoying the area. There are lots of shops and great places to eat. It was awesome to watch the fishing boats and listen to the sea lions. We went back a couple of times during our vacation in Lincoln City.
The bayfront is a lot of fun to visit. There are a lot of shops to go through and it is a working harbour so you can see the ships come in and unload their catch of the day.The only problem with this is parking is not easy to get unless you want to park up on the hill and walk down to the bay front
Fabulous unique art pieces The stroll among shops was pleasant. Stopped for some seafood overlooking the bay.
We stayed two nights in the Historic Bayfront area, one at the Landing and the other at the Anchor Pier right in the working harbour. Great food, great service.
The affordable Local Ocean Seafood Team/restaurant is a must taste for fresh local fish & seafood perfectly prepared, well worth the wait. Crabbing from the docks, sailing in the bay, dining at the Saffron Salmon overlooking the bay, visiting the Mariner's walk &sea lions on the docks, strolling the many and varied artisan shops, candy stores, gift shops, touring cruises, and so much more. From the old style homes to the newer storefronts, the variety lets you entertain your family easily. Enjoy!
This was a fun stroll lots of shops and beautiful paintings on the buildings. Also food places to eat at. Plenty of places to watch the sea lions swim in the bay or along the dock
always fun to wander down -stop at the candy shops-have lunch-check out those noise producing sea lions
Worth the jaunt from Lincoln City for something else to do. Same sorts of shops, but just as enjoyable.
What a fun place to spend the day exploring the different shops and tasting the great sea food. Don't forget to check out all the different attraction's.
Love the bayfront, watching the boats, listening to the Sea Loins, people watching, and art galleries to check out too. Cafes, pubs, coffee shops to stop in also. You do not need to spend lots of $$, just enjoy the sights and sounds.
Enjoyed the three areas we went to The Under Seas Garden, the Wax Museum, and Ripleys Believe It or Not. The price for all three was purchased at a discount rate. Very good deal.
