I have stopped by this antique store in the past and it's 'ok' . There is a lovely, new store COTTAGE BY THE SEA and I ended up buying several pieces of 'shabby chic' furniture there, because the pieces were unique and very reasonably priced , too! They do have a nice selection of antiques, collectibles, home décor, as well as furniture in it's original form. The owner, Eileen is very friendly and appreciates your business! I take my BFF's with me to shop because they always love a good deal and also have new homes to furnish! Between the two stores, I much prefer Cottage By The Sea for selection, quality and it's affordable! .
The owner of this shop is very friendly to browsers and shoppers, and doesn't pressure anyone to buy. There are lots of unusual and interesting items in the store, but many, if not most, seem to be the type of things one is more likely to see in a museum. Such as a life-sized wooden carving of an African woman, wall masks and other large objects. If you are looking for antique dishes and glassware, you might find a couple of objects but this isn't that type of place. It has an almost "spooky" and dark atmosphere inside the building.I believe it is one of only two remaining antique shops in Moss Landing, as most of the shops have been converted into art galleries. I got the impression during my frequent visits there that the galleries really don't seem to have anywhere near the business the quaint antique shops did. The other remaining antique shop, across the street, is closed on Wednesdays, so if you're an antique hunter, skip a Wednesday visit.Hamlin Antiques is worth checking out, just for the experience. The antique dealers seem to be abandoning Moss Landing, though, so don't delay if you want to go see what's left.
