Great little place to check out some planes without a big crowd. Can go into a few planes. Nice playground next door for the kids. It's knid of a hidden gem in a rough area.
My husband never tires of looking around this place on our visits to North Highlands. He can't believe the engineering on the multi cylinder radial engines (quote). It is very well laid out and interesting for the aircraft enthusiasts, also for children and is a credit to the people responsible for building it. There is also a lovely children's playground adjacent to it.
Liked the venue; Air Museum is fantastic...hotel is adequate and priced accordingly; food was good at conference attended and hotel had full breakfast included with the room-all at a very reasonable rate
This is a must see for kids and adults. There are many full-sized aircraft sitting outside the museum. Even a couple you can crawl into. There are nice guides outside to tell you about the planes. Inside has engines, parts of airplanes that is very informative and just cool to look at. So impressive.Sorry guys, but your gift shop does suck.
This is now the Aerospace Museum of California and if you look it up under that name you will find out more information than here. I think it hasn't actually changed locations, just the address changed. We went with our 3yo grandson and had a wonderful time. Between the museum and the incredible playground next door he was ready for a nap - we were there two hours and he didn't want to leave.
Many Static Displays do not allow you to get inside any of the Aircraft, This one is different! Several of the larger aircraft, including the HU 16 Albatross and the C-119 Flying Box Car allow you to climb into them and get a true feeling of what it must have been like to fly one. A nice collection of aircaft and displays, with well airconditioned spaces inside for smaller aircraft and portions, including some Drones and a US Navy DASH helicopter.
Just a waste of time. I don't know what else to say except it's a waste of time. The computer wants me to elaborate but there is nothing more to say except it is a waste of time!!!
This is a great aviation museum. It has a very nice indoor section, with in-scale and real airplanes, and a large outdoor collection of planes from WWII to today. For certain occasions some of the cockpits are open.
The aircraft displayed inside are all displayed in a creative manner. The displays, photos and history of aviation are all done in a logical and informative manner. The aircraft displayed outside are many and all very approacable and touchable.
Excellent Mars exhibit inside, about 20 planes outside, some you can go in, but make sure you do before it gets too hot. Would be nice if there were some benches by the entrance (in the shade) so when the museum opens late, you can rest. Volunteers are really enthusiastic - many of them flew what is here now.
It is a little museum. We happened by the Groupon when it was available, it took A long time for us to get over there. It was awesome though, lots of informative displays and great space exhibits.
Loved all the planes - especially being able to climb inside. Great place to take kids, and husbands who are into building model planes!
Access to airplanes, inside and out, fascinating history of aviation and WW2 and beyond.
You can see the planes that have been used through time in this enormous museum. Leave plenty of time to see everything!
