This is definitely for boards only, keep the scooters, bikes and small children out of the way. The day we went, just for me to take some shots, was nearly vacant at 11AM. But, once school is out, the fun begins. Picnic table under a shady tree is a good place to watch the action.

Get there early - Fills up pretty good during the day!! Great place!! Don't bring little kids, though - They need to train somewhere before gettin into the park with the big kids!

I gave it an extra star for the Mogul Maze but it'd be a 3 star otherwise. It's got everything you need but that's it. You do what you came there for and then it starts to feel a little old so you go home cuz you're not those guys that just hang there all day, you've got a life.

If you are looking to kill an hour in Carlsbad check out this park. My kids enjoyed watching skaters doing tricks and honing their skills. No fee to enter the park. We happened to go around dusk.

should have been moved closer to town so skateboarders wouldn't misuse sidewalks, public and private property. Skate boarding IS a CRIME when public and private property is damaged by uncaring juveniles and their complicit parents.

Nothing more perfect then this location. Not popular, low key and great atmosphere of humble skaters. I take my little nephews there once a month and they love it. The fire station no more than 200 feet away is run by Mike Lopez, and they keep their eye out on the kids. Good size park, nice rails and good spot to bring a lunch and relax.

Beaches are well maintained on a consistent basis; rangers and lifeguards are constantly patrolling.

This is nicely located in the Safety Center, near the police station, so you don't have a lot of punk kids. Feel safe bringing my 8 year old. Can get crowded on the weekends, mellow after schools. Lots of grass to hang out and watch, bathrooms, soda machine, picnic tables.

Lots of bowls and it was lit up at night so I could skate into the evening ours!
