Got a private tour of the Garage, which is not available to the public. Worth it if you respect what a great company and pioneer HP has been and still is, and what an impact it had on the bay area, basically starting Silicon Valley.

Very modest place. Sometimes big tourist buses roll by. On a residential street near downtown. Other sights in town are more impressive.

This is a 5 minute stop if you are in the area. There is no access to the garage and they have a gate. You can take a picture down the driveway of the garage and can read the historical marker. Neighborhood is nice so driving through allows you to look at some nicer houses. It was fun for me to see but the teenagers were not impressed. What an important place in corporate history, for the Silicon Valley and for computing in general. Neat for history buffs and computer geeks. If your close why not stop so you can say you did it.

The beginning of Silicon Valley .. when the world had not seen start-ups and garages, this was the place from where one of the biggest companies in the history of this planet started. Worth a visit.

Some people think technology is cold, dry and without emotions...they probably never heard about this magic place where a great story has born an not yet ended. Two fellows started an amazing, unique, company that has been able to adapt during the years...and without knowing it they started also the Silicon Valley.

Lot of history around this site and worth a quick stop - the neighborhood is also full of very nice houses to drive past and admire!

It's no different than seeing a battlefield. If you're heavily into war history, then a battlefield visit is quite meaningful. If you're into the tech world, then take 10 minutes to find a parking place and see this house. It's all about the feeling of "being right there." It's only worth your time, if technology history is important to you. We found it to be pretty cool to stand there for a moment and think about what it was like back then.

A great photo opportunity but we couldnt seem to go in.As a bit of a tech geek it was fun to have a photo with the garage to say that I had been there, but thats about it.

If you're in Palo Alto, stop by 367 Addison Avenue to see the house and garage where Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett founded HP. This is a nice residential neighborhood. After many years of changing ownership, HP Corp bought and restored the house and garage to the same appearance it had in 1938 when HP was founded. There is a large historical marker on the front lawn. One of the few free things to see and do in the bay area.

There's nothing wrong with the garage. It's just that there are so many amazing things to see and do in the Palo Alto/Stanford area. I'd give this photo op a miss.

If you are a great fan of tech history, you may enjoy seeing this little garage. But there's not much to this, whatsoever.

I work for HP but live in the east coast.I always said that if I got out here I would go and visit the "Garage", there is not much to see except the "garage" and a plaque denoting the historical significance of the birthplace of the Silicon Valley companies. It is kind of sureal since I have been in the IT industry for 30+ years and kind of felt let down, but in the same breath wondered what it would have been like 40 years or so ago when Bill and Dave would go out there and tinker wondering if they ever thought in their wildest imagination what would evolve in Palo Alto ...

As this HP garage only used to belong to HP brothers, now it's belongs to somebody else. It's in a neighborhood area, not many visitors were here because it was blocked by the gate. What can you do? For me, only take the photos in front of the garage that's like 20 feet away, somehow blocked by the gate. There's an introduction about the garage in front of the house.

In the middle of a normal residential neighborhood, "Bill & Dave's garage" offers a great experience to see where two great minds got together to take a risk as the creators of the audio oscillator for Walt Disney's Fantasia film. This is where history was made, although neither Bill nor Dave could probably have imagined the hugely successful company that would springboard from their imaginations and courage. Just be aware that people really live here in this neighborhood, and visit respectfully. An iconic monument to human creativity.

You can stand in the driveway and look at the house (which has people living in it) along with the garage where Hewlett and Packard worked back in 1938. It's interesting for geeks like my son, but you cannot go back into the garage to actually see anything.
