I am a wine club member and we came up to celebrate my daughters B-Day. Nothing has changed here since my last review, except that this winery exceeds in hospitality and continues to release vintages that are extremely palatable and are very very reasonable. The staff is very knowledgeable about the wines and the backgrounds of the growing regions.Thank you so much for making our day very very special to our daughter.
great barrel tasting event w/ yummy snacks!Staff is relaxed, knowledgeable, and congenial!thanks DVC!
My wife and I found Dry Creek Vineyard after buying its terrific Zinfandels from Costco. We were in the neighborhood, so why not stop by?As it turns out, we got engaged that day (moment before coming in to DCV) and Darren and Joe helped propel our special day into one we relive every time we stop by. With a pour of their Dry Chenin Blanc to start the afternoon (we can't leave without at least one case, these days), we happily take a trip through all of their fantastic wines. We became wine club members on that first day - the club membership is cheap for what you get and the membership + case discount makes stocking up a no brainer. We love going to DCV events (of which there are many throughout the year). If you enjoy barrel tasting, I highly recommend joining the DCV club -- their barrel tastings are member (and member guest) exclusive so you don't have the hustle and bustle of some other more commercial wineries.Best of all, when you're feeling particularly tipsy, just walk across the street to the Dry Creek General Store for some great lunchtime fare. No matter what other wineries we visit in the area, we always end up back to DCV.Did I mention the lawn area with picnic tables? We've brought friends with kids and were well accommodated by a beautiful day outdoors with fantastic (and comparatively inexpensive) wine.I only wish we made time to come back more than once a month.
This vineyard opens at 10:30 which is nice, since most open at 11am, so it gave us a jump on seeing several vineyards in a day. The tasting room and grounds are immaculate, and the wine was excellent. This is a great place to bring a lunch and enjoy under the trees in the garden.
We visit Dry Creek Vineyard every fall just around harvest. It is our favorite place to stop in and have a picnic under the large trees. The vineyard and tasting room are fantastic. Very comfortable and laid back. We have been members of their wine club for three years and enjoy everything they're making! We've been saving our Mariner's for quite awhile and also love the Sailor's Cuvee. Love DCV and love Healdsburg! See y'all in October!
I recently spent a long weekend in the Sonoma/Napa area, and this stop was hands down my favorite of the trip. Extremely nice and over-the-top customer service! I can't wait to go back.
Grab lunch in Healdsburg then have lunch at the picnic tables on the lawn of Dry Creek Vineyard - they'll lend you glasses if you buy a bottle for your lunch libations.Amazing reds, from Zinfandels to their meritage, malbec and "sailor's cuvee". Karen and Ian can advise on the wines, based on your preferences.Great gear and gifts for sale.
The wines are fabulous, but the staff is even better. We had a supremely enjoyable experience and weren't treated like second-class citizens for being from PA. We heart Darren and Ian.
To be fair, we visited Dry Creek at the end of our tasting day, we were tired and the winery was crowded. We will have to visit again one day when we have more time to enjoy the winery and it's grounds. Once we worked our way up to the tasting bar, the staff was very friendly and our host did a great job with our tasting. We enjoyed the wine, especially the Zins of which we bought a bottle. I think Dry Creek is a must visit when visiting Healdsburg, just don't visit at the end of the day like we did. I think we would have enjoyed our visit much more under different circumstances.
We all know there are a lot of wineries to visit in the Healdsburg valley. But this is one of those places you really shouldn't miss. The staff is great, the grounds are beautiful and perfect for a picnic. And the wine is amazing. You won't be disappointed.
Dry Creek Vineyard Zins are one the best values in Northern California. We always stock up when we stop by the Winery!
Not only does Dry Creek Vineyard produce excellent wine, their tasting room is staffed by some of the most friendly people you will encounter during a wine tasting excursion in Dry Creek Valley. It's a family owned and operated winery, and their attention to details show in their wines and in the facilities. The property features a lovely picnic area, so bring some lunch, sit outside in the garden and enjoy the wine.
After our neighbors shared a bottle of your delicious wine with us, we decided we had to pay a visit to your winery during our recent trip to San francisco. We have been in Napa /Sonoma several times but somehow had never been to Dry Creek. We tasted almost every kind the winery offers and loved them all, especially the Chenin Blanc. The Heritage Zin was a wonderful surprise and the Endeavor was excellent, all reasonably priced. We ended up shipping a mixed case home and joining the wine club . Our order just arrived and I can't wait to open a bottle. The best part of our visit (other than the tasting) was talking with the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend it.
Some Days before Christmas Day of 2015, I visited the Dry Creek Winery to pick up another caseof Chenin Blanc wine for Me and My Friends.Even thou I am a wine club member, I am treated with so much respect and care with each visit. The winery produces excellent wines for every price level.
Thank you Dry Creek, what a great time we had a couple of weeks ago when we last minute opted to stop by on recommendation from one of your neighbor wineries! Your wine is exquisite, i also found a great scarf there for my daughter, and am looking forward to my membership there. I will be back in Sonoma in the very near future and will definitely stop by. Your staff is wonderful too!!Thank you, Chris M
