Great shops. Lots to look at with many places to choose from for a meal. Many hidden treasures. Don't forget to check out the Cheese mongers!

Great place to sit with a beer and pretzel and just watch people. This town attracts people from all over the world and many bring their kids. After walking and shopping all the stores, many people end up in this park. Great place to meet people

This is a really nice park, it is especially fun in wintertime. The park offers a great place for kids to sled in winter right in the middle of downtown. The park has a gazebo with heaters to warm yourself by before going out to sled some more. The trees and gazebo are lit for Christmas/winter and are very pretty at night. There is a Starbucks next to the park to go get some hot chocolate or coffee after sledding. Overall, this is a great park that adds a lot to the Leavenworth experience.

This little park becomes a kids sledding venue in the winter. On the Saturday night we were there, a section was even blocked off for a snowboard on rails competition. I've seen markets set up in the park on other visits.

always music and sledding around the holidays. Beautiful lighting perhaps a little over the top now.

We headed up to Leavenworth after a snow storm due to the fact I missed northeast winters. The town was this perfect winter wonderland! The German town covered with a thick blanket of snow right after Christmas made this an amazing experience! Despite the cold temps we wandered through the town enjoying all the shops! I would recommend going to Leavenworth anytime of year but especially after a snow storm! You will feel like your in the perfect Christmas movie!

This park is a beautiful must see. I mean, you can't really visit Leavenworth without seeing it as it is in the center of town. Not only that, it is brightly illuminated with all sorts of festive lights. The main draw of the park, in the winter, is the sledding. The hill is small and personally I would find a side street, but it would be good for kids/non-sticklers. Come here at night and you'll find this place empty take lots of uninterrupted photography. The crowds and cars will both be gone.

You can get parking early in the morning but I would not take it because the traffic becomes extremely heavy very fast around this area and for a long time. Good luck getting out of your spot if you decide to park close. Not everyone wants to park there so very few let you out. Park across the street in one of the lots for a small fee and yes it is small compared to some other cities even of this size. The lots are $7.50 for all day or $1.50 per hour. You can also find some free parking on the last street near the waterfront. The park itself is smallish but nicely kept. In August there were hanging baskets of lush plants everywhere! it can certainly put one in a good shopping mood if you were not before you arrived. There was a art festival going on when I got there with some very nice art. This town however does not know about the NO TAXES on goods shipped out of state. Very few vendors in the town know about it and no one in the park knew. I still have to write the Mayor about that one.

Leavenworth is a beautiful place. Set against the Cascade, its modelled as a Bavarian village. Its perfect during the Holidays to get the spirit of Christmas. Its fun just to take a walk along the Front Street looking at the local shops and their exhibits. The Nutcracker museum is a unique museum, my kids just loved it.I would love to visit again and in any season.

It was all lit up for Christmas and had a short sled run with snow provided! The lights were a big attraction with trees covered in lights for the length of the park, about two blocks. Definitely worth the visit.

when you fist drive down the street it feels like you have entered Germany. The hill for the children to toboggan down the hill. the Christmas carollers singing. Santa and mrs Claus and the best the Christmas lights when it gets dark! Great day out for the whole family.

The whole park is just magical in the winter. There's so many lights on the trees (when in season) the park is lit so well at night you almost don't need to the street lights. It's pretty special to see.Being not-a-people-person, I recommend you visit this early in December, and mid-week. The lights go up and have to be on (city ordinance I think) after Thanksgiving, so there's no need to deal with crowds unless you WANT to.They make a big deal about the Lighting Ceremony, and it is worth seeing. It's pretty. But be warned, it's very non-secular. Meaning if you aren't the Church-going type, be prepared to sit through a city council prayer, talk about the love of Christ and so and on so forth. It is what it is. There's probably some First Amendment issues being nudged here, but being a non-bomb-throwing Atheist, I didn't care. It as kind of quaint.... And then Santa shows up and everyone goes nuts. Santa says a few words and it's awesome.TLDRWorth visiting. Worth Seeing. If you don't like crowds, go early in the month or after Christmas mid-week. If you go for the Christmas ceremony, be prepared for some Ned Flanders' talk. Also get some Roasted Chestnuts. They're awesome.

Father Christmas was so cool so was the snow for the kids. Christmas lights abound, it's easy to get the spirit of Christmas.

Beautiful hanging baskets of flowers from the lampposts. We enjoyed the high school band performing in the pavilion. The only downside is the piped in oompa music at all other times.
