I had to check out the park after reading the reviews and the reviews were right. The park is gorgeous, although, I would suggest going at least in the Spring since during the winter months the park appears pretty bare since none of the trees have their leaves. That being said, if you go, you must do the Table Rock trail although be warned it is a very strenuous 3.6 miles to the lookout at the top and 3.2 miles to the summit. The trail for the most part is uphill almost the entire way but the nice thing the trail has markers every half mile to let you know how far you are and it is quite easy to follow due to the small spots of red paint that show you the correct way. Keep in mind when you get to the summit to continue the extra half mile to the lookout for one incredible view.

Small state parks. Good camp sights if you plan ahead and reserve a good spot. Some spots are not so great - be careful. Amazing views of Table Rock.

Great hiking. Enjoyed it with our boys. Tough trail with a lot of tall rocks to climb over. Rough on a short person, but fun.

We basically just drove through the park to see the fall colors and to check out the camping facilities. Did not do much of anything else.

I have loved visiting Table Rock since I was a child! Perfect for the casual hiker or families wanting to picnic in a natural setting!

Outstanding view and a very nice drive there from Greenville plus beautiful nature at hand.We did pay at the gate(an unmanned gateway)you just put it in the provided envelope.Its worth it!The mountain itself,holy to the Cherokee Nation is a great hike up from the parking area.

My Boy Scout Troop used the park as a shakedown for our trip to Philmont Scout Reservation next year. It was my first trip, but it had come highly recommended because of the opportunity to practice on a +2000 foot elevation change each way. We carried our packs and it was a good challenge to find out how ready we each are for next year. Although we stayed in tent sites I was impressed with the overall camping opportunities, including cabins. I will probably come back with my family, although I won't be carrying a +30 pound pack up the trail next time! Make sure you bring plenty of water for your hike! It was amazing how many people we met at the top who were not prepared.

If it wasn't for the crowds on summer weekends it would rate 5 instead of 4. On holiday weekends ( Memorial, The 4th and Labor Day ) The ill mannered hordes and their out of control off spring reduce the rating to a 1. Believe me, it is something you will do just once. The best time to visit is in the Spring or Fall on a school day. The main trail follows a mountain stream with several small waterfalls and pools. The trail itself is well maintained and not especially difficult but a walking stick and a good pair of walking boots are recommended. The view from the summit is gorgeous. Places to eat are virtually non existent so pack some sandwiches or snacks and be sure to carry plenty of water. Start early as attempting to navigate the return trail in the dark is treacherous. We have been hiking the trail for more than 15 years and never tire of it.

My family has been coming to Table Rock State Park since the mid-70's. It has remained a quiet, family-oriented place to spend the day or camp for a while. There is a swimming lake that also offers paddle boats. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills, beautiful campsites, and several trails, of varying degrees of difficulty. Carrick Creek provides a cool respite on hot summer days and it's always fun to wade and splash there. Dogs are welcome, if on-leash. If you're in the upstate of SC, don't miss it!

if you enjoy a wonderful view,and don't mind some mt. up hill walking,rock scaling,,,and at end of trip a fantastic scenic view of the surrounding sc/ga mtns,,then this hike is for you. nice park

Table Rock State Park is a great place for hiking families. The scenery is beautiful with easy access to close up waterfalls. The hiking trials run from a fairly easy 2 miles to trials for more experienced hikers that are over 10 miles. Even the drive just through the park is nice with some winding curves and short min breaks with awesome views.

I just took a group of scouts for a hike this past weekend. The weather was perfect. They all enjoyed it. The view from the top is spectacular.

Rented a wonderful cabin here the first weekend in October. Cabin had all the comforts of home, the surroundings were beautiful and the staff we met were very friendly. Will definitely go back!

I've lived in Spartanburg, SC my whole life, and whenever I get a hankering for the mountains, Table Rock State Park is first on my list. It's a great day trip whether you want to peddle-boat, kayak, canoe, or hike up to the Rock (3 hours up, 2 hours down LOL). Don't forget to buy some bald (boiled) peanuts from a roadside vendor!

Located along the Foothills Parkway (SC 11) near Pickens, this park offers easy access to South Carolina's beautiful mountains. The park's lake, picnic areas and short trails are great for day use. During leaf season, the park is a beautiful place to stop for a picnic. The park also offers cabins and campsites for those wishing to stay longer. The cabins and the most popular campsites are in high demand, especially during the summer and on spring and fall weekends, so plan ahead. Table Rock State Park also serves as the eastern terminus of the Foothills Trail (a National Recreation Trail). Information about day use activities, hiking (including the Foothills Trail), cabins and camping is available at the visitors center. The visitors center (which is also the information center for the Foothills Parkway) also stocks a few camping necessities in addition to books and souvenirs.
