Barker-Lane Stadium is the home of the Campbell University football team. The stadium itself recently was refurbished and now has an additional 3,000 permanent seats doubling its seating capacity to a little more than 5,200 permanent seats. The stadium is located directly off of HWY 421/27 and easy to find. You can pay to park in the parking lot adjacent to the stadium, however you can park across the street for free at the different lots by the dorms.The home side of the stadium is where the assigned seating is located. This seemed to be the first year that they have had reserved seating as everyone kept commenting about it and scrambling on how to get their friends to sit in that area without success. A ticket in this section only costs $8-13. The visitor's side of the stadium is where the general seating is located. These are bleacher seats and are on a first come basis. These seats cost only $3 each. As such, football games are an affordable option compared to other big college programs.Since it is a small school options at the stadium are limited when it comes to food and drink. You can primarily expect bottled soft drinks and hot dogs, candy, popcorn and a few other select choices. However, like the ticket prices, the food is actually affordable and won't break your budget. While the school had a band, it wasn't a marching band and they took halftime off like the two football teams. They had a section with activities for little kids which they could play during the break. However both the band and the music over the loudspeaker did a good job in keeping the crowd into the game. The atmosphere made for an enjoyable game. Just don't expect as high quality of a game as you'd expect at an Alabama game for example. If you need another reason to go, where else do you get to hear the cheer "let's go Camel's, let's go."
