Lots of energy, comedy and drama in their productions. We recommend the Quaker historical shows The Sword of Peace and Pathway to Freedom. When the lights are off (momentarily) look upward to view the sky from the beautiful forest venue. Last night we came for "Oklahoma" and loved the cast and the wonderful Rogers and Hammerstein songs. It's appropriate for a family outing and a first date. Eat at the on site restaurant for good ole Southern cooking. Adult tickets = $16
The annual historical dramas are heartfelt and educational. The children's shows are so fun and only $5.00! The musicals are entertaining. Watching drama unfold under the stars is a great way for your family to spend and evening. Sword of Peace is a dramatic portrayal of the Quakers during the American Revolution. There are real animals in the play and loud "gunshots". The Pathways to Freedom is an account of the underground railway in this area. It is heart wrenching. On the way home my sons had a lot of questions which lead to a great discussion on race and how we should treat all people. We have been seeing the children's shows since 2006 and the price still remains $5.00. Great interaction with the audience. We love to go on Wednesday nights and have dinner before at Yesterday grill. Of course and Saturday show can end with lunch at Ye Old Country Kitchen just next door. My advice for the Saturday morning shows is the sit on the right side facing the stage. The left side is in the shade until halfway through then the sun beats down on you. The right side stays shady until the end of the show.
