I took my granddaughter to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, recently. The theater was lovely and the performance was outstanding but we found security personnel to be very rude. The theater is well appointed, has great acoustics and good seating. The box office staff and ushers are very polite and helpful. Parking, in the BOA garage was reasonable and convenient, with a 6th floor walkover, to Founder's Hall.
The Blumenthal never disappoints. I don't think there is a bad seat in the House. The accoustics are great. Recently saw an opera there (Turandot) and was again reminded of how nice it is. It seems very accessible - no huge clots of people to get through to get to the bathrooms or the refreshment stands. Right in Uptown so close to restaurants.
We Loved it! We are still singing the songs. This is a great performance and definitely worth the money.
The Blumenthal Theater is very nice and has stadium type seating so that all seats have excellent visibility of stage. The only concern of mine was the size of the stage. My wife and I went to see Phantom of the Opera and I have seen it several times before and the limiting factor of the theaters selected has always been the size of the stage. Phantom needs a very large stage area. This (in my view) deficiency was well compensated for by the use of multiple moving sets on the stage. The audio of the production was outstanding as well was the lighting and seating. The ushers were all professionally dressed and knew exactly where our seats were located. The close: any seat you select you will be able to see and hear the production.
We went on Valentine's Day after having procured tickets way in advance. This new production was awesome although the chandelier was not as spectacular as the first time we saw the show in 1995. The staging of this show was wonderful as was the overall performance. The woman who played Christine had a voice that was a little tinny but everyone else was great. The stand in for the Phantom was fantastic. We were in row J on the aisle on the left side but because the theater seats are designed to view the stage, the seats were great. Outstanding Broadway in Charlotte!
Saw the Andrew Lloyd Weber Phantom of the Opera. A remarkable and unforgettable performance. I definitely think everyone should see. My husband was dreading attending this with me. The arts really are not his thing and he loved it. Said he would see it again.
My first visit to Knight Theater. Venue was great. Staff at were friendly. Parking was even reasonable ( price and acceptability). The show was amazing! If you have the chance, check it out. Your kids will love it!
Attended the rehearsal of the Charlotte Symphony. The conductor was wonderful and connected with the audience, the acoustics are fantastic, the performance was in the morning -- so no problem with being tired -- and the cost at $18 for center orchestra 10 rows back could not be better.
The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is a wonderful venue for all live performances. From traveling Broadway shows to smaller theater plays and performers the venue is always top notch. We enjoy the Performing Arts Center many times each year and have never been disappointed in the venue
We were in Charlotte for one night and decided to see the Nutcracker at the Blumenthal. It was an excellent show! The ballet and the symphony were amazing, the ticket prices reasonable, and was a very nice facility. Overall, excellent!
This was a POPS concert for Christmas starring the Charlotte Symphony and Oratorio Singers. There also starred Melinda Doolittle and a Children's Choir. The music was terrific. The acoustics grand. There were plenty of volunteers to help you find what you needed. This is my third time in this terrific venue and it won't be my last.
I saw Sister Act and absolutely loved the play. I paid for a seat in the orchestra section a few rows from the stage. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of leg room. I don't know if I would splurge for those seats again because the theater is set up in such a way that I can't imagine having a bad seat. I will definitely go back there again to see a show. During intermission the line for the ladies room wrapped around so far I never thought I would make it back in time for the second half. To my amazement the staff had such an amazing system that we were in and out within 5 min. I wish they would give lessons for other events. This may seem like a small thing to appreciate if you are a man but I KNOW the woman can relate.
Back in day, I was on the volunteer team for opening day of this PAC. We have visited many times since for different types of events. We are always pleased and leave filled with joy. Every seat in both The Belk and The Booth is a good one. Acoustics are superb. The Belk is simply beautiful to see even before the show begins. I hope you take any opportunity to sit in those seats, look up and be amazed!
Beautiful venue in Center City. Very clean with most courteous staff of any theater we have been to. Surprised to find loitering has been addressed in area making our time in town much more enjoyable than expected. Plenty of facilities for the ladies so intermission was not stressful. Good, quick Mexican grill across street.
We have been season pass holders for the plays and are at the Blumenthal about once a month . Nice theater with plenty of parking close by.
