Saw the last game of the year. Super nice facility. O'Brien's upstairs is crazy and worth the money to get in.
This is the PREMIER site for hockey in the NCAA. Plenty of concession stands, restroom facilities and Notre Dame Hockey. This facility is fairly new and plays host to the Chicago Black Hawks as part of their preseason preparations. The facility also house concerts--like World Pulse- Montgomery Gentry- B.O.B---just to name a few.
It was very nice and my son the hockey player really enjoyed playing there! Very clean and BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Second time we attended a Notre Dame Hockey game. Both times were great experiences for the entire family. The arena is awesome. Easy parking, clean, and not a bad seat in the house. The games are fun with fast action and it kept everyone’s attention which can be a chore for some ages! Definitely a place we will return to again!
A great venue for college hockey. Only two seasons old, there is not a bad seat in the house. Enjoy a meal at close-by Eddy Street Commons and then come and enjoy the fast moving game with cow-bells, air horns, and great Notre Dame fans.
The Compton Arena is first class. No bad seats. Food is pricey, but that is normal for the type of facility. There are lots of options for food though. They also hold hockey training camps and classes there, a great asset for the community.
We were able to enjoy this amazing arena on a football game weekend! The Ice Breaker tournament was a great compliment to the football activities and the staff at the door welcomed everyone to Notre Dame and were happy to make sure we found our way around. Best of show!!
A great arena and we entered and toured the area on our own. This area is also a training area for the Chicago Black Hawks.
As a travel hockey coach, I've been to a lot of arenas both big and small and The Compton Family Arena was by far the nicest arena I've been to. The arena is as nice or nicer than any NHL arena. Very clean and well layed out.
Lots of fun here. All seats are good, home hockey games are a real hoot. The ND band is fun to watch during breaks in the action.
An eye-opening, jaw dropping--simply amazing college venue. Not too many universities have a 5000-seat hockey arena. But Notre Dame does-- and the place is packed for every game. But Notre Dame doesn't limit access to its own hockey team--there is a rink open to the public for youth hockey games and open skating. And (just in time for the 2014 Olympic coverage of the sport) the arena was offering curling lessons. Compton Family Ice Arena is a great asset for ND and the entire South Bend-Mishawaka community!
A great place to watch a hockey game . the Video at the introduction of the players is simply amazing by any standards
I got a couple Notre Dame Hockey tickets and took my dad. Compared to where the Irish used to play, this place is palatial. Everything is new and fancy. The band's their antics ("you let the whole team down") may get annoying after a while, but all the traditional hockey flair is there. Air horns for home team goals, little kids trying to skate between periods and stuff like that. We had a blast.
We have been to 3 ND hockey games this season and are thinking of getting season tickets next year. Just an incredible venue. I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. Parking is hassle free. Would just advise that the concessions are pretty expensive (as they are at any type of this venue). $8 for a large soda and $4 for hot cocoa. But the experience is worth it. They do such a wonderful job with engaging the crowd. The kids get to compete to ride the Zamboni. GO IRISH!!!
If you can swing it, get tickets to the O'Brien club during a game. The food is great and you get a full view of the stadium from up there. It can be expensive but you're getting dinner and a show!
