Burdette is one of the few places to go that has adequate swimming and waterslides in Evansville. But warning, IT'S ALL UPHILL. It's up the stairs to pay, it's up the hill to the waterslides, and loads of concrete to walk on. It's a bit pricey too, so in large groups, really think it through. It's fun, and the lockers are helpful to keep your things.
The pools are very large and nice, but they always seem to be extremely crowded and there is one section kept closed for some reason. The rest of the park is well maintained and there is lots of wildlife to observe. Very nice and large park.
Security seemed to be everywhere in this park. It started making me feel uncomfortable after seeing the third security vehicle (all the same?) in just a few minutes. Otherwise the park is very pretty and enjoyable.
We've been here many times. The water park is the largest in the Evansville area and has something for every age group or interest. We usually go once per summer, partly because it is a little pricey for a family to all go. The rest of the park is pretty. We have stayed in the chalets before, but they also offer camping and you can rent shelter houses for the day for family reunions or large gatherings.
Burdette Water Park is a great family-oriented water park! We try to come here almost every summer for one day of water fun! My personal three favorite attractions there are the diving boards, the snack bar, and the water slides. If and when you do go to the snack bar, you MUST get the chili cheese dog and the cili cheese fries!! I love Burdette and their staff is amazing in emergencies! All in all... This park is..... FUN!!
This was our first visit to Burdette. We camped for 11 days in a 5th wheel. What a treat! We were in site 7, full hook up. We were looking over the trees and, as it was late March, we could see the walking trail through the trees. We didn’t use the restrooms or showers as we use our own. There are laundry facilities, one washer and one dryer. Sue, the manager is just delightful and as helpful as can be. The evenings are quiet and the mornings filled with birdsong. We’re out in nature, but the third largest city in the state is just minutes away. Having stayed at other campgrounds in Evansville, we’ll be coming back to Burdette for all our future visits.
Last weekend a group of friends got together and stayed in one of the chalets at Burdette Park. Our chalet had room for 8, nice kitchen and livingroom and a great fireplace. Since it was a cold weekend we burned lots of wood and enjoyed the indoors while it snowed outside. We found the lodging to be in good shape although we were missing one dining room chair. In addition to supplying most of what we needed for the weekend (linens, paper towels, etc) they also supplied us with firewood. I would highly recommend one of the chalets for a getaway with the girls or even a couples getaway.
We have camped here 3 times this past season and really enjoyed it all 3 times. The manager, Sue, is great and easy to get long with. The place is kept clean and the restrooms are nice. The sites are a bit close to each other, but not much can be done about that. The campground is one end of an awesome 3+ mile paved trail that goes to the University of Southern Indiana. It has some serious hills, but is fun to walk, jog and bike. One of the times, we also used the waterpark/pool and it was fun and very clean.
had a great time with the kids.... lots of lifeguards around for our safety. there are many water slides and different water heights for the small to adult size people,
They have pretty much everything at this city park pool. Two pools; one with diving well. Large section of one of the pools is for small kids. They have splash park area if don't feel like getting into pool.
This pool is great for young children. They have a huge area that is about one to two feet deep with little kid water slides. In addition, the have a splash pad that is great for young ones. The older ones will enjoy the deep pools and diving broads. They also have water slides for older children that are very fun and free with admission. They have a variety of food at the snack area. Only down side it that lockers are a quarter to use and no one really has change anymore.
For a water park, this is a very affordable and fun option, out on the edge of Evansville. The waterslides are pretty good, and there is a new splashy park for the little ones. Bring your own lunch. The restaurant is pretty limited.
I live near the park, infact I love walking the park. The pools is just great, huge fun kiddie pool, and fun water slides something for everyone!!!!! Plenty of picnic areas for large an small groups. Cabin rental is available and there is also a campground, and there is motor cross racing if you are into that. Access to the park itself is free, pool is not free.
This is a wonderful park. Their aquadic center has a large Olympic pool; a family pool and a large baby pool. The baby pool has four slides for the kids. The family pool has three water slides for the adults. They also have a spray park. They have numerous rentals available for large parties. There is plenty of hiking and trails to walk. I highly recommend burdette park.
Another great place to visit near Evansville. Great kiddie pool (very large), diving area, and water slides.
