Place was cute and tasting was cheap. We definitely enjoyed our time there. It wasn't anything super fancy but it was fun!

Didn't realize this winery was out there. Almost thought we missed it. Saw big signs on the interstate about it and decided to give it a try. Bought several bottles of wine and some salsa. Nice area. Good wines. Only thing was that we never were offered a sample to taste. That was unusual, but the girl was very helpful explaining what the wines tasted like. We plan to go back.

We ventured to Burr Oak Winery after going to Cranberry Fest. We have had better experiences at wineries. The service was good getting us in the last half hour they were open however they did not give a lot of info on the wines we were tasting, not much room for many people at the counters and we did not feel welcome being there. At only $5 for a tasting it was worth going there and the wines are good. The atmosphere is rustic and it's a very cool location!

Our wine trail had 3 wineries today, so left at 8am to head to Warrens, then Fountain City & finally New Lisbon. We turned on Navigator to get us to New Lisbon & then looked at the hours of operation to find we would barely make it to Burr Oak in time. We called & asked if they would stay open a little later since we had over an hour drive & they said they would! They offered us a smaller tasting & stated they wouldn't charge us for it...usually it is $5.00 & you get to keep the glass! I am a red drinker, but Cassie shared her whites, which to my surprise, I liked much better! They have many wine related items for sale, so enjoyed picking up some things! I bought a bottle of Amber Ice wine! The grounds are beautiful! I hope we can stop sometime & not be rushed as the patio is very inviting & the vineyards are right there! Thank you again for extending your hospitality when it was time for you to go home! We do appreciate it & look forward to visiting in the future! We look forward to continuing our wine co-op tour of Wisc. & Iowa!!

Burr Oak is amazing! It's not easy growing wine grapes in Wisconsin, but they do it with splendor. All the best northern grapes are represented, and if they want a new taste then they'll invent it; literally develop new grapes. Burr Oak has one some major awards recently (Finger Lakes International competition) so be prepared for crowds on holiday weekends.

Three of us did a wine tasting in October. The place was packed and there was not enough room at the bar/counter to accommodate everyone who came in, so many people had to wait. There were some tables scattered around the room, but the staff had left new inventory in the process of being marked and set out on top of several tables, so I would really say there wasn't adequate room. We had to work around the inventory when filling out our tasting sheets. It was a very slow tasting as the one server went back and forth between different customers. As for the wine, I have had much better at pretty much every winery I have ever visited. As we went down the tasting sheet, there were columns for Like, Ok and Dislike. Everything I tasted went in Dislike until we got to the last 2 dessert wines. Those actually had decent flavor. If you have been to bigger name wineries, this is one I would not recommend stopping at.

We had a great time at this winery. It helped make the long weekend trip exciting. Our guide was very informative about the process and local area. This is a hands on business and the owner, Steve was right there answering questions. Fall was in the air! The wine tasing was awesome and the bottles were reasonably priced so much so that we bought 2 cases!

In planning a long weekend trip, I came across the Burr Oak Winery in New Lisbon. What drew me in was that they were having their Fall Harvest Festival, this was to include a wine/cheese tasting, food and vendors and a "I Love Lucy style grape stomping". New Lisbon is about half way between La Crosse and Madison and was very easy to get to. It was a very hot Saturday the weekend of the Festival. When we parked and walked into the winery area of their farm, we weren't quite sure what to do. There was two buildings, one across from the other; no signage of where to go or an itinerary of events. It would have been nice to have a staff person greet us and help explain where to start or what options there were. After a few minutes of wondering around looking lost, a lovely woman asked if we were finding everything; once we told her we had not been there before she explained the layout. The building to the left was the main shop, it had many cute wine trinkets inside and their wine for sale. In the back was the vendors, this part I'm sorry to say I was disappointed in. There were 7 vendors inside and one outside, with an eclectic range of goods from stoneware to jewelry and vintage clothes to handmade potholders etc. But unfortunately I just wasn't impressed and we didn't spend much time looking around. Next we went outside and did their wine tasting. It was only $5 and you get to keep the glass. This was a nice experience. The gal pouring my samples was very nice and friendly and I enjoyed several of the wines I tasted. The music was ok as was the grape stomping. I think there was food for sale at the end of the patio, but we weren't hungry. We sat and drank part of a bottle of wine, but eventually the heat got to us and we had to move around. I love photography, so my husband and I went to take some pics of the vines. One of the grounds keepers came up and chatted with us a bit sharing with us a bit about the vineyard and allowed us to go walk through the vineyard behind the barn. This part was my favorite! It was late afternoon by this point and the sun shined so brightly onto the grapes. I took tons of beautiful pictures and this part made the experience for me. Overall it was a nice quaint little winery and worth the stop.

We were getting away for a few days and decided to look for a winery. I had the guide and found Burr Oak listed in it. The young lady was very helpful. We tasted a few of the wines and they were very good. We also thought that they were priced very reasonably.

Took a trip to New Lisbon and stopped at this winery. Was introduced to Steve the owner who was very proud of sharing his knowledge and what he had at the winery. Did some wine tasting and it was excellent. The atmosphere of the winery was pleasant and extremely relaxing. Would defiantly visit again. Want to go in the fall. I hear the fall festival is very good as well. Great day I spent at the winery.

Very nice winery, try the port if you get a chance. Off the beaten path but well worth the visit. No winery 'tours' but tasting and there use to be an art gallery to view but its been a while. They have a wonderful festival in the fall around harvest time and with the live music and food offerings its a fun event.

We did the $5 per person wine tasting that allowed us to each try 8 different wines and we got to keep the glass. There was a large selection to choose from. We were the only ones visiting on Thursday afternoon. A fun experience!

Nestled in rural New Lisbon, you will find Burr Oak Winery. The owners Steve and Judy are very welcoming and will be excited to tell you about the grapes and wines that they have available. A full wine tasting is only $5 and you get to keep the glass. The shop area has lots of unique gift ideas and it has the most beautiful stained glass windows! The wine itself appeals to every wine taster's desire, from dry reds to sweet desert wines they have it all. The tour of the actual vineyards and winery is very educational and you can see how much passion they have for this business. It is definitely worth the stop!

GPS was not real helpful finding this place. But when we did I was excited to see the vineyards right as we drove in. was not sure what door to go in. But my husband lead the way. Very nice layout wine tasting was $5.00 and you keep the glass. Corded bottles I like better than screw on makes the experience more exciting!
