Great place to walk, picnic and get married like I did. There is a fishing pond, authentic grist mill, cabin and trails.

We spent a couple of hours here. There are some hiking trails on the property which are easy to walk on. As well there are a number of old building to view, and, best of all a working blacksmith shop from the 1700's or so. Nice place to pass an hour or two.

My friend and I were on our way to the botanical garden when we saw the sign for this place. Having already been to the garden, we decided to stop by. What a pleasant surprise to find this wonderful little gem. While it costs $5 to get a tour by 2pm and the restrooms are closed at 4pm, the mill can be explored from the outside. They have a small gift area where you can purchase corn meal that was ground there at the mill. The main feast for us was the wooded area with a variety of old buildings and over 8 miles of walking trails on 160 acres of land. You can spend the afternoon here. If you want to pay a nominal fee, you can even fish for trout. It was a nice alternative to photographing a botanical garden (again), we got to see all kinds of really great stuff including two trees that had honey bees living in them! Plenty of open space for kids to run, adults to exercise, romantic walk, peace and solitude, this is the place. The paths do not appear to be open to bicycles, just jogging, walking, strollers.

Newlin Grist mill is a treat anytime you go. The kids have attended camps there, I've walked with my friends, we've gone on family hikes, had picnics, done Girl Scout hikes or just stopped off for 15 minutes to enjoy nature. It's always beautiful, clean and peaceful. Highly recommended for a little serenity.

The Newlin Grist Mill is a working mill, open to the public for demonstrations. Great exhibit for children 6 and up. Nice picnic grounds, fishing and trails. Beautiful setting on the river with several historical buildings. A great place to take the kids. A must see!

It is small and all the buildings are kept locked up and can only be viewed on the scheduled tours, even if no one else is around.

We live just minutes from the Grist Mill and have been there many times over the years. The property is absolutely gorgeous with acres upon acres of tree line paths, a meadow, fishing ponds and creek not to mention the Mill itself and the other historic buildings. The Grist Mill has so many activities for families to enjoy- a fishing rodeo, Colonial Days and one of the best summer camp programs in the area! My children spent a week at the Grist Mill camp each summer for at least five years. The staff was very kind to all the children encouraging them to explore the natural beauty of the property and helping created wonderful lessons filled with art, science... and fun. The property has been the backdrop for many photographers, provides incredible scenery for bird and animal watching and has lots of great places to picnic.

This place is great for all ages. We love to come here and have a picnic by the stream and then go for a lovely hike on their trails. They have a nice pond for fishing for the kids. And the mill is very interesting and informative. A great outing.

First of all, this is a FREE attraction with FREE parking. How often do you find that? The land includes a small waterfall, a mill race, a blacksmith shop, a log cabin, a mill with museum, and a miller's home. There are guided tours that are about $5 per person, according to their website. If you don't want to spend money, though, it is a nice place to stroll and enjoy beautiful scenery, while imagining colonial life. There is a Wawa less than a mile away where you can get a reasonable picnic lunch -- there are picnic tables at the park. The path next to the mill race is very level, and good for all-terrain strollers. During certian months, there is trout fishing for a fee, but you have to take what you catch. A little far from the city, but if you just take I-95S to I-476N to Rt. 1 S -- it is only about 10 minutes from there. Totally worth the drive, in my opinion!

There ae only a couple of buildings, but they are interesting. Tye site has numerous great photo opportunities, with the dam and waterfalls, ducks, stone buildings, and stream.

Once, long ago, the Wawa-Concordville railroad went through here! It's an ancient, well-preserved piece of Delaware County history. And there are several other historic buildings, right up the street.Keep in mind that this park also has a very small, stocked fishing hole/pond where you can rent a fishing pole. It's very picturesque so don't forget your camera AND something for the fish to eat other than the cheese that they sell here!

This mill was built in 1704 and owned by the Newlin family until 1817. It operated commercially until 1941. The park includes The Miller's House, Trimble House, the barn the office and grain storage. springhouse, railroad bridge and dam, and a blacksmith shop. First, learn about early-American milling industry in suburban Philadelphia, then take your time traveling along the historical water walk and enjoy the beauty of the park. There is a wide variety of plants and wildlife to appreciate throughout the seasons.
