Go for the homemade ice cream & remember to pick up a milk to take home. You don't even have to get out of the car. Never to cold for me to eat ice cream in a homemade waffle cone. At Lapp Valley Farm, your ice cream won't be dripping out of the bottom of your waffle cone 'cause they fold the end up. Not pointy but squared off. Great value.
Nice working farm for the kids. Great "home made" ice cream. Somewhat out-of-the-way, so get directions first!
Great farm nestled in the rolling hills outside of New Holland, PA. They have outstanding ice cream. They also have a drive thru and sell milk and juices.
A little off the beaten tail but well worth the trip. They have some of the best "home made" ice cream this side of State College and a very good assortment of flavors. There chocolate milk is so rich you could double dilute it and still have better chocolate milk than most corporate dairies, it's really that good... The drive thru window is interesting when you are in line behind a horse and buggy or two. They also have a couple stores at the Green Dragon in Ephrata for those folks who need their Friday fix of flee market and fine ice cream. Make the trip to the farm; its not that hard to find and its a nice place to take the kids for an hour or so.
The best piece of advice is to use a GPS if you are not familiar with the area. When we arrived the staff was friendly, courteous, and very efficient. The chocolate ice was outstanding and the prices were reasonable. We will make this stop every time we visit Lancaster. They also sell free range eggs for the people that want that extra quality and goodness in the eggs that they eat.
We found out about Lapp Valley Farm from a tourist at a farm stand so we went. We loved the ice cream. It's so creamy. They make fresh waffles cone there too. Chocolate is my favorite. My husband loved the coffee ice cream. They also have a small petting zoo with cows and calves. My son loved seeing the animals. It's a very relaxing and pretty place. There is also a peacock that runs around. :)Last time we went we were able to watch them milk the cows. I highly recommend going to get ice cream and hanging out with the animals.
This place has the best ice cream. It's so smooth and creamy and delicious. They also make fresh waffle cones that smell amazing when you're in the store. The coconut is always one of our favorites.
This place is a real gem in Lancaster County. They make wonderful home made ice cream, and the black raspberry is one of the best I've ever tasted. Combine this with the home made waffle cones they make right there, and you have one of the tastiest treats ever!
They have delicious, creamy ice cream of a variety of flavors. They have a small 'petting farm' of two English bulldogs who roam the property and also newborn calves. They do need to do something about making parking and coming/going more efficient as there are constant near-accidents.
I been to this place twice this place is beautiful. I love the homemade ice cream. the friendly cats and the dogs were great. you can also see when they milk the cows.
We got lucky: when coming in am, we were offered just-made vanilla ice-cream. Amazing staff. Got to socialize with few cats on a farm and watched cows going around their business:)
Even though it was wet and cold, the ice cream in a waffle cone was no doubt the best I'd ever eaten...anywhere, hands down. The drive-in window service was different to any other, and the service was quick and to the point. The Amish dairy doesn't use any chemicals or drugs in its herd to boost or increase milk production, so it's as close to the cleanest milk and dairy products you'll get. Make sure to visit and have a drink or milk, or a milkshake or better still, an ice cream cone while you're in the area.
We make a point of visiting every time we are in the area. I've been going there now for about 40 years and the ice cream is the best you can ever have. There is a nice porch to sit while you eat and then you are free to visit the young calfs on the farm.Really nice location for ice cream!
My husband and I visited Lapp Valley Farm for the second time on September 17, 2014 and it was wonderful. The ice cream and waffle cones best ever, and the farm is so beautiful. We were able to see the sunset (they close at dark), God's creation so beautiful. And we saw some young cows and a Peacock. The people are very nice also. Last time we went got to see a Amish Buggy going via the drive thru window to get ice cream, it was so cool to see a horse at the drive in window. Great for families.
I have gone here since I was a teenager. I'm now 28 and this is still the best ice cream I've ever had. Cute mini petting zoo too!
