It's a beautiful place to observe wildlife and a variety of scenery. Great kayaking, fishing, biking, hiking and fishing. Some of the most beautiful sunsets to be found. Unlike state parks in other states Pa. parks are admission free.

I love to visit Presque Isle. Decent beaches for a lake in PA. Plenty of trails to hike, walk or ride. Fun place to kayak or boat also. P.I. is a great place to watch for wildlife such as deer, many different birds and waterfowl, and other animal. The park does get very crowded at times during the summer.

This park has something for everyone!! Perfect beaches to lay and enjoy the sand and water. Wonderful biking grounds jogging paths 13 miles around the peninsula. You can bird watch, rent a canoe or motor boat. Fishing, or rent a bike!! our favorite beach is beach 10...in the summertime it's the "kit beach" because so many people come to fly their kites!!

Walking the beach is peaceful and quiet. You can drive all around the Isle but take time to get out and explore

Presque Isle is a wonderful place if enjoy the outdoors. PROS-A state park with no admission fee-Plenty of trails for hiking-The Rotary Pavilion is great place to take children fishing, I suck at fishing but my boys love it. here you are all most garunteed to catch blue gills. They also stock the ponds with trout.-Decent walking and biking path that runs the length of the panisilla-Nice picnic areas-Clean beaches-Kayaking and canoeing in the lagoons (really nice when the water lilies are bluming)-A wonderful place to end a dateCONS-No alcohol permitted on park property-No swimming unless there is a life guard present, on of the few places I know that does this-Poison ivy is every where be careful if you stray off the paths-Deer ticks, Deer ticks and yes more Deer ticks. Be very careful when you stray off the paths to look at the poison ivy-Roads can be very slick in the winter time

Beautiful and peaceful place to visit in the summer. The lake is huge. Nice place to go picnicking, fishing, boating, kayaking, biking and hiking, among other things. If you get hungry, there's a nice burger place called Sara's there...almost as good as In-N-Out.

It requires a trip in the worse of the winter.. but to see the lake frozen over is well worth the trip. But watch the weather forecast. Snow is this part of the country get very serious!

Presque Isle State Park is truly a unique area for both summer and winter activities. It offers many and varied recreation opportunities. Because it is a penninsula, it has both bay and lake sides, also lagoons and smaller bays. The bay is huge and is used by boaters and fishers. The lake side has miles of beaches. Young visitors from Virginia were amazed at the large waves in a lake (yes, some people surf them)!!! There are miles of lanes for joggers, walkers, skaters, and cyclists. Rentals of bikes, segways, canoes, pontoons, and surreys are available. Water skiing and kayaking are popular activities. The Tom Ridge Environmental Center boasts an Imax size screen, nature exhibits, and classes. PI is beautiful in every season. A winter cross country or snow shoe trip is as beautiful as a spring or fall bird watching outing (PI has the most varieties of birds in the nation). Presque Isle is a magical place that is a paradise for environmental scientists and tourists alike. Locals take rides there year round. The emersion is nature is soothing to the soul.

Of course there are the beaches in the summer , but this is a great 4 season location. In the winter, there are trails for walking and hiking, cross country skiing, and ice fishing. The spring and fall are the best times to look for beach glass. Look for glass after a storm, but also after the waves have died down. Best spot....Beach 1.Also a great location for nature photography; even now the ice dunes are an amazing photographic opportunity.

This beautiful park is “local” for me and my family has enjoyed it for generations, If you plan on visiting take the time to experience all of the many different ecological environments in this park. Its not all about the beaches and its not just for the summer months. There is some much you can do or not do. Just lay around on the groomed sand beaches if you like or get into some of the other activities like picnicking, grilling, swimming, snorkeling, boating, fishing from the shore, on a rented boat or on a charter boat or on the ice. Biking on a single or tandem or the whole family in a carriage bike. Hiking, skating, jogging, running, sight seeing, kite flying, bird watching, volley ball, sunsets and any other activity you can think of that doesn’t involve obvious public drinking of alcohol as certain beverages are prohibited but that’s why the make cozies. In the summer you’ll need sun block for the beaches and if your going into the “interior” a good bug repellant for ticks, deerflies, mosquitoes, sweat bees and gnats as they can be bothersome.Handicap and wheel chairs access points are available with free fishing areas for the kids. And unlike New York State Parks, this park is FREE!More to see and do in the summer at the family owned amusement park and water world which has free parking and very reasonable admission charges. The adjacent area has a very good selection of motels, restaurants, pizza joints, bars, churches and gas stations. But their not free.Who knows but you may wind up making your visits a generational thing.

live in Erie, so the state park is a great place to run, bike, swim etc. Could do more to have a boardwalk on the bayside with small shops, bistros,,etc. The bridge over the channel so it could be accessed from the east side of town would greatly impact it, and should be finally put in.

Like to fish, see a beautiful sunset, are you a bird watcher, like to ride a bike, walk, jog, in-line skate, have a picnic, swim, enjoy a sandy peninsula that surrounds Lake Erie, fly a kite, relax in or out of the sun, feel a warm or cool breeze on your face, go to a place that can be romantic or enjoy some family fun? There is so much to do at Presque Isle State Park. We love it! The fresh air, trees, birds, the sounds and sights of the water and scenery are well worth the trip. You can go to the website to learn more. Sometimes we drive around the park and just enjoy and take in all of the beauty it has to offer. You won't be disappointed.
