I love running this trail but it isn't kept clean over the winter. It's great if you cross country ski! I like starting at Forest Haven Round, running to Glen Haven through the camp ground and then on to the Dunes!

such a place to feel alive. Grab your friends and family and experience nature. This is such a great way to get closer. Take your friends and family.

Whether you want to hike a wooded, sandy, open field, hilly, flat, watery trail, this place has it. We hiked the Aligator Hill Trail. Fantastic trail for all levels. Beautiful wooded trail that gives you a unbelievable view of Lake Michigan.

The Sleeping Bear heritage trail offers an awesome bike ride from Glen Arbor to the Dune Climb. It also has the uncanny ability to be down-hill both ways.

The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is new paved bike trail that stays almost completely away from the road. Wanders past the Dunes..Up and down hills. Lots of people but not crowded.beautifully designed and executed. Lots of rental bike places.Apparently it is groomed for winter sports.

What a gem! Excellent hiking, beautiful landscape. Access to the trail directly from the Homestead resort.

Wonderful hike. Never saw another person except on the beach. Great views of L. Michigan and dunes plus access to beach.

Beautiful connecting bike ride between Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor. The percent grade of the trail was no problem, only small up and downs and only 5 or so miles!

The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive has some great overlooks----especially just before sunset! Not to be missed.

Long hot sandy walk, but worth it!If you know the legend, better, amazing views. Had know idea we were up that high, only try the dune if you are in very good shape, or have wings....

Sleeping bear dunes are impressive, didnt look as big as they are when you start climb up the sand. Looks like they never end, great views along the the lake opposite the dunes, huge parking are, BBQ area, all there you need. Nice day out. Carry lots of water, unbelivable exhausting, especially if the sun is up. A must see and do.

We climbed the dunes(which are huge) and walked the beaches close to LAkeshore Inn. We ate at the only restaurant/bar/grocery/drug store within walking distance. All the locals were there and the food was very good. Sweet little town, the post office was across street from a stable, don't see that everywhere!

I've made this walk two times...once a few weeks ago and once about 20 years ago. I remember it being easier 20 year ago! Bring WATER! or gatorade...enough fluid for the walk there and back. From the dune climb, it's every bit of 60 minutes, depending on your shape, speed, etc. And don't forget, it's an hour BACK. But, it's an amazing walk, up and down dunes on trails and it's really a great feeling once you've completed it...our kids made it and they were all under 10, so just take your time and take pictures along the way.Well worth the effort!

Amazing place. Various trails and spots to view lake. One place you can sit on the dunes as long as you wish. Be careful going down though, saw many people struggling to climb back up. Excellent map and info. when entering the park.
