We stopped in at the beginning of our wine tour and would love to come back in warmer weather. We picked up some cherry wine that was delicious and dog cookies that our dogs love. It was a beautiful place and would love to spend some time enjoying the outdoor areas in warmer weather.
All things cherry = Yummy! Everything I got was awesome! Here were a few of my favorites; cherry dark chocolate oatmeal cookies, dark chocolate covered cherries, cherry gummies (kind of like cherry sourpatch kids), Boom Chugga Lugga Soda (my favorite was the black cherry cream soda).Go into the winery to taste the wine and Boom Chugga Lugga soda so you know you are getting a flavor you like!In my opinion this place is not one to miss!
I wish I could have gone back before we left. I loved the Cherry Ginger Ale. The ladies in the shop were wonderful with my son while we were shopping. They had him search for a stuffed bear and when he found it he got to hide it again and also got a surprise. Everything we tried tasted wonderful..
Cherry Republic products are very good even though they are pricy. The good thing is that you can sample many of the products before buying. I do recommend it because there are all types of products.
Funky little cherry related retail and Cafe area. Have samples of various cherry products then head for the wine shop next door for more samples.
It you like cherries this is the place for you! They have everything cherry. From cherry coffee to cherry salsa and everything in between. The chocolate covered dried cherries are also a big hit. They ship to anywhere which makes sending items to family, friends or home to yourself a breeze. Friendly staff and beautiful gardens in front. The free samples are also great to try and find something you like. Would recommend!
We were really excited to stop at the Cherry Republic and it didn't let us down. Hundred different types of products made with cherries and tons of samples for you in indulge on. When we were done we made our way over to purchase some of their many great cherry wines, which we are saving for a special occasion.
Every time we are in the area we have to stop here. This year we decided we were just going to browse as everytime we go we spend way too much money. Well that was a mistake. Once you walk in the door plan on handing over some cash. They get you by offering up samples of almost everything they have. I will say this time we got away with only spending 30.00 which is half of what we normally spend. So I guess we made some progress. We love this place. Even if you aren't a fan of cherries, I guarantee you'll find something you like. A definite must stop
The cherry republic is all about Cherry's or is it. Not everything is cherry but it is an great place for their famous cherry candy's.
This was close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and I thought would be a quick, but fun stop for our family, especially my daughter who loves cherries. The shop was full of free samples - cherry bbq sauce, cherry salsa, cherry preserves, chocolate covered cherries and more. We only wish there would have been fresh cherries, but we figure they weren't in season at the time. We didn't stay beyond the shop, but there appeared to be a cute place outside to play as well.
We first visited this magnificent store about 12 years ago and have made it a tradition ever since. Let me first say that in 2002 I would eat just about any fruit, except...cherries! I was just looking through a tour book on our first visit to the Traverse City area and the info regarding Cherry Republic seemed enticing. The information made it appear that the owner had an ego as big as the ocean and an early logo which read: Canada's a country, America's a nation,Cherry Republic is an empire". Who did he think he was? We just had to see this "empire" of his. We did and ...WOW! This guy obviously had/has a passion for cherries. It is obvious that he loves his product, is dedicated to his business, has created an inviting atmosphere for his customers, and is a marketing genius (although with such quality products, they almost market themselves, but of course, his dream had to get them to that point, right?) I have tried the numerous samples over the years, have purchased just about every product sold and now consider myself a cherry lover and connoisseur. Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor is an absolute "must go" destination when we're in northern Michigan. Long Live the Empire!!
My girls enjoyed strolling through the soda/wine tasting bar and gift shop. They even came back for cherry cream soda tasting when we set them and their friends "free" in Glen Arbor.
While enjoying a Wine Trail Vacation we stopped here. We had been given a jar of their Cherry Salsa 8yrs ago as a gift and knew this was our chance to stock up! This was a fun atmosphere. There was a cherry pit spitting contest lots of kids were waiting for. The store had everything cherry you could think of.
If it's made from cherries, you'll find it here! This location is so much more than just a retail outlet for Cherry Republic's cherry-themed products. You can taste wine in the winery, take a load off indoors or outdoors with ice cream, pastry, a sandwich, or a beverage from the cafe, spit pits outside, enjoy the beautiful gardens, and sample the products in the Great Hall. The point, of course, is to sell their products, but this is such a delightful way to do it. You will enjoy being a citizen of the Republic even more if you know that this republic successfully defended itself in a naming lawsuit filed by that other, more famous retail republic, an event which is memorialized by some of the tongue-in-cheek signage on the premises.
Yep, everything cherry here. The staff was kind, but the place was packed with people and many things were overpriced.
