the space museum

it was small but it had a lot of stuff on spaces anyone who goes will like it. so don't miss out on this your kids are adults will enjoy yourself.

From the moment we walked into The Space Museum, we were taken back to a time when space exploration and a man on the moon was the ultimate excitement. Our guide was clearly knowledgeable and full of stories and even personal connections with some of the astronauts. The museum houses everything from space-related toy rockets and ray guns, newspaper clippings, astronaut letters and debriefing transcripts, cosmonaut and astronaut protective clothing parts, to a B52 ejector seat, Missouri's largest meteorite, a space shuttle main engine, NASA engineer's models, space food and serving tray, heat shield tiles, and the large Columbia model that was used by a major news program as they covered the tragic disintegration of the shuttle and loss of the astronauts. Our guide even was able to explain what actually caused the Challenger and the Columbia tragedies and dispel some myths we had heard in the aftermath. There was so much to see and hear about in such a small space that we could not take it all in. A planned Space Museum Annex project is underway to house many other items they have in their collection but are unable to display currently.
